Conversations with the Inspiring Ty Nolte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ty Nolte.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a child, I was very artistic. I was always somewhere drawing. I remember, I would sit at the kitchen table, look out the window and paint all the trees I would see and it made me fall in love with nature. But this also inspired me to keep creating and find the art in ALL things.

Makeup is Art. It’s taught me how to express my self in so many different ways. I started doing makeup five years ago just as a way to escape. I would sit down for hours and listen to music and play with makeup, and the more I sat there, the more I appreciated this particular type of art form. It’s showed me that every individual person has their own “look” and you can’t take that away from anyone. It took a lot to get to being the makeup artist I am today and I’m still not there yet, but I will say you just have to keep going. Keep practicing and perfect your craft! We all have one.

Has it been a smooth road?
Being a makeup artist has not been a smooth road, there have been many bumps and cracks along the way. A lot of trial and errors, but if you are passionate enough, you will see your mistakes, and learn from them, even if that means do your research! For young women who are starting their journey in whatever they decide to do in life, don’t give up! I know it sounds cliche, but if you want it bad enough you will not give up. But make sure that whatever you do, you do with passion, and with a good heart. That matters.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am an Editorial Makeup Artist, I specialize in Editorial beauty, bridal, & special occasions. As a makeup artist, I’m most proud of my clients! Without them, I wouldn’t have a business or any clientele. I’m also proud of getting where I am today, I know I’m not where I want to be, but five years ago, I wasn’t in this position. I think what sets me apart from others is the passion I have for what I do. I really enjoy making people feel beautiful, and I really pour my heart into my art.

For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I feel women are well-positioned for and all opportunities, we just have to not be afraid to go get them. And we as women need to support each other. I think there are a lot of business opportunities that women should really consider. We could rule the world!
