Today we’d like to introduce you to Tymeshia Randolph.
Tymeshia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a Nurse with a passion for photography and marketing. My love for photography is rooted deeply in family, as I was able to heavily purse concert photography by working alongside my older brother, a very talented artist here in Los Angeles. I began my photography career by taking photos of my brother for his social media. In an effort to be a greater asset to my brother’s career, I learned marketing, social media management, and mass media.
It was then I realized my natural born knack for creating connections and marketing. After a while, my family affectionately began to call me “Milk It” because no matter the setting I would take the opportunity to get to know others and make long-lasting relationships. This eventually became me plugging artist to videographers, models to brands, as a social butterfly it was always a simple conversation filled with positive energy. Milk It Media: Taking Full Advantage of All Opportunities! And that’s exactly how things started for my brand. Now I have a family rooted career that is now skyrocketing into a fast-growing, well – known photography and marketing company.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, building my brand has not been easy, considering I am a single mother to a beautiful 7-year-old girl and I went to school for nursing. Even now, I work as a nurse. A good thing about my nursing career is, I went to school for it, but my camera skills, different story. I am a self-taught photographer, videographer and brand coach. I took my passions and monetized them into the empire it is today. This has been one of the most rewarding struggles ever. I learned everything hands-on building from scratch. I got my start by interning behind the scenes for a couple of LA’s veteran photographer and videographers. I shadowed them so I could learn and eventually got my own camera and learned the wonders of Manuel mode. The rest has been her-story, I’ve accomplished a lot of goals in a short period including working with established artists to becoming a published photographer within my very first year.
Advice, ummm….the best advice ever given to me was “Invest in yourself” – and it truly is that simple. If you do not invest into your own dreams why would anyone else? Do the basics like getting a website, invest time in your social media presence, figure out your goals and accomplish them fearlessly. Take advantage of every opportunity!
What should we know about Milk It Media? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Milk It Media is a two-part company including photography and marketing. I specialize in event photography and videography. I am known for my concert photography and behind-the-scenes work. I’ve shot at many sold out concerts for artists such as Travis Scott, Rich Tha Kid, 2Chains, The Real Yung LA and many others. It is my job to capture the culture and what it is in the moment.
My ability to create the minds vision for my clients is what sets me apart. I can take what my client sees in their head and bring that energy to the project. I had one client cry over a video I created for her, she said it put her business into perspective and made her feel great about what she does. I love being able to create lasting experiences on camera for my clients, ones that last a lifetime!
Milk It Media Marketing includes PR for different brands for example artists, models, and clothing brands. As a photographer, I hold my own photo sessions for my clients and create branding packages and campaigns around them. Milk it Media also offers other services such websites, content curation, social media management, and headshots.
What sets me apart from others is my desire to see others accomplish their goals… doing it for the win. I have the knowledge so I share it. I have the talent so I use it. I have the passion and I allow it to fuel me, so that I may inspire others.
