Hi Muse, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
“The fashion industry is rigorous, you need a degree, connections, etc.” These are common phrases I heard when I told people I was getting into this industry. And yet, here I am, flowing through an industry and starting with none of those things. Unconventional is the only way I can really describe myself and my art; I flow through life doing what feels right and for me it’s fashion. I am a professional stylist as well as content creator where I am honored to be a part of the high fashion community and teach people how they can achieve high fashion aesthetics for a lot less; think thousand dollar outfits on a $25 budget. By day, I style music video artists through an amazing company titled “GuapRuns” ran by the talented Alexander Cobian Instagram @GuapRuns. By night. I run several different social media accounts most popular is my TikTok account @ForeverUrMuse to help people get into fashion the unconventional way- through DIY and thrift flips. I believe fashion should be accessible to all and not ran by a specific social class.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was only rocky when I made it that way for myself. What we think about ourselves we attract, and so if you believe you will make it no matter what, you will always find a way. Challenges arose for me when I took to heart the opinions of everyone else, when I had a mindset of lack, and when I did not make time for my self-care. When I took the time to do shadow work for myself, and figure out who I am, what I like, and WHY I’m doing this in the first place, my perspective dramatically shifted. I am successful because I believe in myself, because I am doing this to help others, and because it is what I am passionate about. Anyone can be successful in what they do if they can find this within themselves.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a stylist and content creator for the high fashion community. I would say I’m most known for creating high fashion looks on a $25 budget; I always make it work with what I have. I am also known for intermixing spirituality with high fashion. This is not to be confused with religion, I would not say I am a religious person but a spiritual one. I believe in manifesting and plenty of shadow work/reflection in order to ascend to our highest sense of self. I bring these practices with me when I style celebrities and when I create content. I want to inspire people to look and feel their best because fashion is truly an art form that you present every single day of your life; EVEN if you’re not interested in it! Everyone has to wear clothes and so everyone has to participate in fashion, why not use this as a means to express the deepest parts of ourselves? If we love and care about ourselves we will put effort into our lives and that includes our wardrobe. Whenever I mention this to people, they often speak about “not having money” to do so and that’s why I create content on social media, to show people you really only need about $25 for an entire outfit.
