Hi Absorbingpersona, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since Elementary school, language, visuals, and storytelling have captivated and soothed me. English was my favorite subject which caused writing to become a passion. I began with short stories, which in middle school evolved into books and poems. By high school I found a new outlet in songwriting and from there I’ve only continued to grow. Exploring songwriting deepened my connection to music, leading me to singing and sparking a journey of self improvement in terms of my musical knowledge and technical skills. From the moment I connected with music, I knew it was something undeniably special.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road though I would never expect it to be. Stepping outside the expected mold and venturing beyond comfort zones naturally unsettles some people. Every creative journey faces obstacles, and sharing your authentic, passionate self inevitably triggers strong reactions. As they say captivating art activates emotions. These challenges have only deepened my connection to music. No bump in the road can ever pull me away from the connection art has to my soul.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m primarily a dark pop artist performing under the pseudonym Absorbingpersona. I immerse myself in every aspect of music, constantly pushing boundaries. I’m known for releasing multiple projects throughout the year, each marking a distinct era in my evolution.
What I’m most proud of is the loyal, growing community of fans—the Babez—and the support I’ve received from other figures in the industry. Their encouragement has been instrumental in my personal and artistic development. Alongside all the work I’ve put in to be considered an artist.
It’s been mentioned I tackle difficult conversations and bring the unspoken, lending my music a rare vulnerability. The willingness to explore deep, thought-provoking themes is what drives my ongoing expansion as an artist.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, and still today, I’ve embodied multiple archetypes. At times, I was the extroverted, loudmouthed life of the party. Other moments, I cherished the solitude of my own company, like listening to the echo of frogs in a dimly lit park. Creativity has always had a presence, even when my ideas were just unorganized concepts that didn’t blend. I’ve navigated my fair share of mental health challenges, with creativity serving as my safety blanket. Today, I’m in a place of contentment and self-acceptance, deeply grateful for both the bliss and the agony that have guided my journey.
