Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Bamert.
Hi Adriana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up in Switzerland and in a family where music was really important, I started playing the violin when I was 3 years old. When I got into 1st grade with 6 years, I started singing in the choir and later on started performing on my own.
With 11 years I performed at my first wedding. After that singing became an even bigger part of my life and I was able to often perform at different concerts or events.
In 2020 I then wrote my first song called “dear past love”, which I released in the beginning of 2021. My second song “Movie Of My Life” then followed in august 2021.
In September 2021 I moved to San Diego to improve my language skills. In Switzerland, we do learn English, but I wasn’t that advanced in it, which is why I came to that decision.
I really enjoyed my time there and returned to Switzerland at the end of February 2022.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not. However, that is on no one other than me to blame. The biggest opponent I had to face when starting to make music was myself. I have to admit that I’m a perfectionist and I have really high expectations for myself.
As you can imagine, especially in the creative field, being a perfectionist isn’t always helpful when trying to create something new.
Writing a new song and always hearing your inner voice tell you that it’s not good or interesting enough, often minimized my workflow and visions for the song.
Nevertheless, having to deal with those thoughts also helped me grow as a person and be more kind and loving to myself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I write my own songs and also love to perform at events.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Fortunately, the Covid-19 crisis hasn’t affected me that much. That is because I record all my songs in my home studio 🙂
