Today we’d like to introduce you to Alberto & Jeffrey Montellano & Beasley.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
So usually, first the idea comes before you move forward with a business, and for us, it came from our love for burgers and food. We’ve been friends for years going back as far as 12 years, and we never knew we both wanted to go into the food industry profession. And so, we started thinking of different foods but something about how creative burgers can be gave us the idea to go forward with that choice as smash burgers! It took us a little less than the year to get everything started up for the business, and then from there, next thing we knew a year and a half passed by, and we have a decent following around most of San Diego.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There definitely were a good number of challenges, one learning where to buy our products for a decent price, figuring out how to get more and more different permits we need to serve at different places around the county as a pop-up.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well, what we do is make smash burgers Oklahoma style, and it’s what we’re becoming known for! We are most proud of our continued perfection of our burgers and also potential creations of specialized burgers, all based as Oklahoma-style smash. What set us apart from others is our quality, prices, and our simplicity. It’s what we believe makes our food truly delicious!
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We are definitely open to all collaborations, whether you run a pop-up, a restaurant, or even if you just cook at home and have some great collab ideas! We are always open to them. Even merch-wise, we are open to collabs; we feel like in this community, there should be no competition; we should all unite and try to provide the best for the people of San Diego or the people visiting. People can support us by following us around San Diego at our pop-up events and spread the word on what makes them love our burgers!
