Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Keo and Dale Mace
Hi Andrew and Dale, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Both Dale and I have always been interested in photography, but we’ve never acted on it until recently. Dale’s background is in engineering but he picked up photography as a hobby and as time went on he developed a stronger interest in it. Andrew’s background is in animation. For Andrew, it wasn’t very different from his day-to-day job besides that now he would be dealing with an actual camera. At first we both thought of photography as a hobby but as we kept learning and going to more events, we decided maybe we should take it more serious. We have been friends for many years and both wanted to start something so we decided to take the next step together and to start Bokeh Visuals.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Andrew and I both started out photography as a hobby so initially, we didn’t face some of the same struggles as other photographers. Some of the challenges we did face were learning to take photos in different environments and of different subjects as well as establishing a certain look going into the photoshoot but learning you have to be able to adapt to the conditions the shoot presents.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We firstly are creatives and we specialize in photography. Our goal is to be known as wedding photographers and to always put the couple ahead of everything, and we are there to capture their story. We believe what sets us apart is our eagerness to always tell the couples story in a creative format and provide them with everlasting memories.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
We feel being creative can be taxing, it has its limits, and we know when to take a break and leave our work alone because if we try to push through it, usually we end up making terrible creative decisions. As photographers, we understand composition and lighting have to work together and to not over-edit and let the photograph stand on its own.
