Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always had a love for protecting my natural hair. As a child, my mom would press and comb our hair on Sunday, and we would have to wrap with a silk bonnet every night to maintain and protect our hair. It stuck with me as I got older.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. I started my business with a 50 luxury adjustable bonnets and a vision. I didn’t know where I would go when my first batch was launched. So, I started doing research and networking with like-minded people, and I got into the Pop-up culture around the Sacramento area. I would set up all my products every weekend in 100-degree weather to promote my business.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Technical Support Manager at Luxer One and have been here for 5 years. I love my job. I have 2 boys, and I am most proud of them.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson has been to never give up. If you have 1 order or 100 orders. Treat every customer the same.
