Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Maciorowski.
Beth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From Auto Lifestyle to Creative Content: A Story of Reinvention…
After thirty years in the auto industry, I hit a wall. That world is less of a job, and more a lifestyle, demanding six days a week, ten to twelve hours a day. I was completely burned out and knew I had to make a drastic change. I embarked on a period of deep soul-searching, realizing I needed work that was both physically active and offered a sense of dynamic “hustle,” but also aligned with my growing passion for the entertainment industry.
That passion led me to music festivals and concerts. On a weekend trip to the Kaaboo festival, a chance encounter changed everything. A friend introduced me to someone who worked building the stages. As I explained I was in the midst of a major career shift; he offered me a job right there on the spot helping with the post-festival “break down.” I absolutely loved the intensity and hands-on nature of the work.
Finding My Place in the Union…
After a few months, I heard people talking about a union called IATSE. Being an “adult” over 35ish, 😉 the appeal of a 401k, health insurance, and the structure of a union was exactly what I needed. I joined, working with the union for eight years and eventually becoming a member. This provided me with a wealth of experience across countless jobs, but one thing quickly became clear: operating the cameras was where my heart was. I am a creator at heart, and I realized I had a unique ability to see and capture the “crazy things” people might miss through a lens.
The Pivot to Bcreative Content…
Unfortunately, all the hard, physical work—pushing boxes no lighter than 75 pounds and moving heavy equipment—took its toll. I sustained long-term damage to my sciatic nerve in my lower back. I found myself being faced with another career pivot.
Instead of letting this setback define me, I realized it was an opportunity to leverage the skills and passion I had cultivated. I took the camerawork and production knowledge I learned and founded Bcreative Content.
My business is the culmination of my journey: a blend of my creative eye, my love for the hustle, and a deeply-rooted desire to help people. Now, I help small businesses by taking the video and drone work off the plate of the busy owners. I capture authentic footage of their assets—their people, their process, and their products—to create genuine content that promotes and elevates their brand. It’s rewarding work that allows me to stay in the world of content creation, but on my own terms.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it certainly hasn’t been a smooth road; it’s been more like a few different roads, each with its own significant bumps. However, I truly believe that the struggles were essential—they pushed me toward where I am today. The first struggle was the burnout itself. Leaving the auto industry after 30 years wasn’t easy; it was a secure, intense “lifestyle” that I knew intimately. Walking away from that stability and facing the unknown was a massive emotional and financial leap of faith. The struggle was in the initial “deep soul searching”—figuring out what I even wanted to do next and building the courage to start over with something completely different, like literally helping break down a music festival like Kaaboo!
The most significant struggle came when I realized I was going to have to walk away from an industry that I truly loved. My physical limitations after sustaining nerve damage was preventing me from continuing down this careet path. This was devastating because I had finally found my place, and an injury made me realize I couldn’t physically continue. The union had no “light duty” options, so I was forced to face my limitations.
This moment was the biggest roadblock. It stripped away my physical ability to do the job, but in doing so, it forced me to ask: “What skills do I have that aren’t dependent on physical capabilities?”
The answer was my creative eye and technical camera skills. The struggle of the injury became the catalyst for starting Bcreative Content. It forced me to stop pushing boxes and start focusing entirely on my passion: creating authentic video and drone content.
Ultimately, the biggest struggles—the burnout and the injury—weren’t setbacks; they were the necessary pressure that led me to start a business that truly utilizes my strengths and allows me to help small businesses thrive without compromising my health.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At its core, Bcreative Content specializes in producing high-quality, authentic visual assets for small to medium-sized businesses. My specialty lies in combining two distinct areas: high-impact ground video and dynamic drone photography/videography. This dual approach allows me to capture the scope and detail of a business like a professional production house, but with the personal touch and efficiency that small businesses need. I am known for being the creator who sees the “hustle”—I don’t just film the finished product; I capture the process. My entertainment industry experience means I know how to frame a shot and tell a compelling story, making ordinary business operations look cinematic and engaging.
What truly sets me apart comes directly from my history. My decades in the auto industry gave me a unique understanding of long hours, dedication, and the nuts-and-bolts of a business operation. My eight years in the union taught me professional-grade production values, how to move fast, and how to capture a wide variety of subjects. This background translates into three key differentiators:
The Authentic Eye: I don’t use stock footage or overly polished, generic marketing looks. I provide authentic footage that promotes a company’s assets—their people, their workspace, and their unique processes. My clients trust me to show what makes them real.
Grounded Production Experience: I don’t just own a drone; I spent eight years working on major production sets. This means I approach every shoot with a professional production mindset, focusing on lighting, framing, and storytelling, regardless of the size of the client.
Hustle and Reliability: The 30-year “lifestyle” in the auto industry ingrained in me a work ethic of dedication and long-term partnership. My clients know I’m reliable, fast, and completely dedicated to taking that content creation workload off their shoulders.
I am most proud of two things. First, I’m proud of reinventing myself after a debilitating injury. Being told I couldn’t continue in my chosen career was a huge blow. Building Bcreative Content from the ground up—using my mind and my creative skills instead of my back—is a profound personal victory. Second, I am incredibly proud when my work directly helps a small business succeed. Seeing a client use my authentic footage to land a new contract, attract the right talent, or simply garner an outpouring of positive community feedback is the most rewarding part of what I do. It fulfills my love for creation and my desire to help people simultaneously.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something most people who know my work might not realize is that the core strength of Bcreative Content comes directly from my personal wiring and upbringing.
Being a Gemini with ADD gives me intense, focused observation. My brain is wired to notice the dynamic and the unusual, which is why I see and capture things through the lens that others often miss. I’ve channeled that energy into my work, constantly driving for new, compelling creative solutions.
Crucially, my technical camera skills are honed through intense training using only my iPhone. This approach is a key component of my brand’s authenticity. It gives me the ability to “jump right in” on location and capture authentic footage without having to set up lots of equipment or stage the workflow. It’s truly organic and immediate.
More importantly, having grown up with an older brother who had cerebral palsy, reliability and trust are ingrained in me. When you’re constantly advocating and caring for someone, being untrustworthy is simply not in your wheelhouse—it’s not an option. Clients hire me for my skills, but what they truly receive is a business partner whose life experience has trained them to be hyper-focused, deeply observant, and unwaveringly trustworthy.
