Conversations with Bre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bre

Hi Bre, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Breana Yarnall, and I’m originally from El Centro, CA. I attended Cal State San Marcos and went into nursing school post grad. Once I completed my nursing program I found my passion in the dermatology and aesthetics field. I entered this industry unsure of exactly where my path would take me, but certain of one thing: I wanted to help people feel better about themselves—both inside and out.

It wasn’t long before I found myself weighing the decision of whether to pursue a role as a provider or to explore the potential of managing a practice. I was given the opportunity to grow a med spa for a plastic surgeon I worked for and fell in love with it. Over the years, I had worn many different hats—working in the operating room, back office, front office, and even earning my master aesthetician license. This allowed me to deepen my understanding of skincare and aesthetics beyond the nursing side.

After experiencing different roles, I realized that I wanted to help guide and facilitate growth within the industry. The key for me has always been making intentional decisions, keeping the bigger picture in mind, and setting small, achievable goals along the way to reach those larger aspirations.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I believe that life is never without its ups and downs. I’ve had the privilege of working in incredible environments, which have shaped me into who I am today. I’ve also faced difficult situations that made me question my education, my worth, and my purpose. Despite those challenges, my goals have always been bigger than any obstacle, so I’ve chosen to view them as valuable learning experiences.

The aesthetics industry is constantly evolving, with new technologies and trends emerging all the time. One of the key factors in my success has been my ability to stay coachable and adapt to both big and small changes. I like to think I thrive in chaos, and I always take full accountability for the mistakes I’ve made along the way while seeing it as part of the success I’ll achieve.

As a senior-level manager, I interact with a wide range of professionals and personalities, which can be challenging at times, but it’s always rewarding. I firmly believe in leading by example and never asking my team to do something I wouldn’t do myself. As a leader, it’s crucial to navigate challenges with confidence and composure.

Having been in this industry for 15 years, I’ve experienced my fair share of trials and tribulations, but there’s no challenge that I’m not ready to face. I’m not afraid to fail because I know every setback is just another opportunity to grow.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As Director of Operations in the aesthetic industry I’m responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring smooth and efficient processes across all departments. My role combines leadership, strategic planning, and operational management to ensure that both the business and patient experience run seamlessly.

Key responsibilities typically include managing the administrative, clinical, and customer service teams, implementing best practices for patient care, optimizing workflow, and maintaining operational standards. I collaborate with the physician, aesthetic providers, and staff to ensure that the clinic is adhering to industry regulations, safety standards, and delivering top-tier service.

Additionally, I work hard to streamline processes, manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and drive business growth. I feel I am instrumental in staff training and development, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to provide exceptional service.

My role requires a blend of operational expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the aesthetic industry’s unique challenges and opportunities. I am adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities, and continuously seek ways to improve efficiency while maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction and staff morale. I love my job. It’s become part of my personality.
