Conversations with Callie Paige

Today we’d like to introduce you to Callie Paige

Hi Callie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
To be honest, I started out shy and not quite ready to be heard. The spotlight has always made me feel uneasy—maybe it always will. But I’ve always had this quiet dream: to sing, and to learn how to write songs that connect with people and maybe even inspire them.

In 2020, I took a leap and enrolled in a songwriting course focused specifically on the sync industry. At the time, I was still dealing with intense stage fright—something I’ve struggled with for years. That fear used to make me believe I could never succeed in music. But discovering the world of sync was a game-changer. It felt like stumbling upon a secret path I didn’t know existed. Suddenly, I saw a way forward that didn’t require being front and center on a stage, and my heart just lit up.

It proved to me that there are so many different ways to have a meaningful career in music. Since then, I’ve been incredibly lucky to meet and work with some amazingly talented, kind, and inspiring artists, producers, and songwriters. Learning from them has pushed me to grow in every way.

I haven’t stopped writing since February 2020, and I don’t think I ever will. Songwriting is truly where I’m happiest. I’m still growing, still learning, and my dream is to one day make a living entirely through music. I know I’m not the “ideal age” according to industry standards, but honestly, I don’t believe in expiration dates for dreams. They’re what keep us young and alive—and music does that for me. It makes me feel like I’m dreaming, in the best way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Learning to believe in myself started out as one of my biggest struggles. But when you work at something every day—whether the steps are tiny or mighty—something magical begins to happen. One day, you look up and realize you’ve grown past a point you once thought was impossible, and now you’re setting even bigger goals than you ever imagined.

When I was first starting out, I kept hearing this common piece of advice: “Just try your best and don’t let perfectionism get in the way.” And there’s a lot of truth in that. It helped me get out of my own way and move forward without being paralyzed by the need for everything to be perfect. But eventually, I reached a point where that same belief—one that had once empowered me—started to feel limiting.

I realized I could do better. I didn’t want to hear, “It’s good enough.” I wanted to hear—and feel—“This is fantastic.” I wanted to know that my work moved people, inspired them, made them feel something real. And that meant pushing myself further, even after I’d already “tried my best.”

Trying your best is always the foundation—but recognizing when there’s more in you to give, and choosing to reach for it again and again… that’s where real growth begins to shine.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently take on work-for-hire projects as a vocalist from time to time. Occasionally, I’m also hired to help with songwriting and top-lining. But at the heart of what I do, I write every day—driven by emotion, experience, and my personal journey. Songwriting is how I process life, and I pour everything I am into the music I create.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Whatever step you feel like making today—make it, take it, and enjoy yourself. If you need a break, take one. If you want a break, take one. If you feel like writing a lot, a little, or just doing some behind-the-scenes organizing, go for it. As long as you’re doing something each day—big or small—you’re moving forward, and you can’t go wrong.
But never say “I can’t” or “I’m not good enough,” because if you do… then …you’re right. Speak what you believe, and believe what you say. Be mindful. Be helpful. And above all, be kind to yourself.
