Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos Bautista.
Hi Carlos, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started Eagle Buff from the passion of working with my hands and playing golf. I stated making ball markers for friends and family. Little did I know that these two passions would lead me to creating special hand made ball markers and divot tools for all my clients. In about a years time I have made and sold more than 1000 handmade custom pieces and have shipped items all over the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been an easy one, I still have a 9 to 5 day time job, an amazing wife and 2 kids. Managing my time between Eagle Buff, my regular job and my family has been really difficult, however it has been a road of learning a lot and appreciating every second of the day.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work consist of making custom hand made ball markers and divot tools for the golf community. What sets me apart is that my work is all done by hand I do not use lasers to customize the items I create, I specialize in hand stamping which is kind of a lost art that I am trying to show off. I also hand paint every piece I make, and from time to time I use techniques such as semi-precious stone inlay in some of my pieces.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I attribute my success to the passion and love I put into every one of the pieces I make. I have a passion that I believe translates to my customers. I do not just offer a product, but I offer an experience.
