Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Clement and Katie Jones.
Hi Cassidy and Katie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
We had always had the idea of starting a wedding and event glam business together, but our seasons of life never seemed to align perfectly until around summer of 2022. Cassidy (28) pursued her career as a cosmetologist and has been behind the chair for 7+ years while Katie (26) has been getting her degree in psychology while working full time. We have been doing event hair and makeup together for quite some time now, however, we didn’t start trying to gain exposure and putting out our content until we realized it was the perfect time to build our dream brand!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Given that it’s only been less than a year that we’ve been actively building our business, we’ve been really fortunate to have had smooth sailing thus far. If you have sisters, you can imagine that doing business together can be difficult in some ways, but it’s also been so rewarding and fun to work with my best friend! We are definitely learning and growing and trying to always find something we could’ve done better, so we can continually improve in our art but also as our brand together.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a sister duo that loves to glam! I think what sets us apart is the foundational mission we have behind us. We have a saying “You can always sit with us” because we want you to feel comfortable, included, cared for, and to feel beautiful. We genuinely care about each and every person we get to meet and glam and want to know your story. We want you to experience joy, excitement, and peace on your special day and that is what we will always strive to deliver. We specialize in wedding hair and makeup but offer our services for any special event or even just for a date night glam! We feel very proud to not only offer quality services but to provide genuine friendship. We feel honored to be chosen for any special event, so we go above and beyond to show our gratitude.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Social media is wonderful in the aspect of gaining inspiration. There are so many talented people, and we can always learn more by watching but also by listening and remembering that there is always room to improve. We like to watch tutorials on different looks or go to classes for the more hands-on approach. Always ask questions because no question is stupid! You don’t know what you don’t know. And asking is a great starting place to learn.
