Hi Edmund, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For the past 7 years I’ve worked on a tech start up with my friend. We spent hundreds of thousands on development all to end up where we began. At some point we were frustrated so much with the development process, we just took the time and learned how to do it in house. With the help of AI and lots of entrepreneur tools, we made it ourselves. The company is called Sober Singles LLC and the website and app is SoberSingles.com a dating app for Sober people. It has a really positive message and we are making lots of traction in the market.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The dynamic of buying custom software was practically a scam. Software companies have no desire to complete your project nor do it in a way you actually want. The disconnect between high tech software developers and clients is light years away. We needed to learn how to build websites ourselves after trying several different companies and hundreds of thousands of dollars down the drain.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My day job is being a project manager for a parking company and my partner runs a large scale cleaning business.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
We are just regular everyday people with normal jobs that did our passion project in the shadows on nights and weekends. Plus the domain SoberSingles.com is one of the oldest websites on the internet to never be used yet, 1993.
