Today we’d like to introduce you to Felissia Mae.

Felissia Mae

Hi Felissia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I consider my story a Journey of a lifetime. The pages run very deep yet each page has purpose. Looking back growing up wasn’t the easiest yet I’m grateful for my start in this world cause it connects to who I am today. The pride I hold within my success is not about a title or the physical appearance or even the place that I reside. It’s within the unseen that most individuals don’t see or just don’t allow themselves to see.
I knew I had some kind of purpose in life yet I was told I didn’t. I was told many things about myself that I knew I weren’t true yet I started to believe them more and more the older I became.
I started to recognize that life isn’t always what it seems to be yet that’s the beauty of life.
I consider myself an Artist, An artist with many talents. I’ve worked in many fields and created many worlds for myself. Some of those worlds hold darkness that I never believed I’d see the light yet here I am now; Today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey itself is built upon obstacles and Challenges yet it’s the experiences that I’ve been through that helped me work through them to be able to adapt to the new ones that come along my path. Each struggle has taught me more about life and myself. Why do I do what I do, what does life really mean to me and why am I really here today. I’ve been a singer songwriter since I was 7 years old and the way I looked at becoming world wide now is way different on how I look at it now. I am still very passionate about my music, each song I create yet it’s so much deeper than I even realized looking back. I was told I was good enough, talented enough, yet I learned from all that was perception of other’s insecurities or their own beliefs on what a person should sound like or even look like. I learned that I’m pretty sure no one is supposed to be perfect at there craft when they start it. They can be naturally gifted especially if there put in a environment that can aid in there gifts yet when someone is put in a environment that goes against the odds it may take time for that individual to actually develop who they were always meant to be. A Star hidden in plain sight.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I consider My work My Life. I’m a creator and I create many things because there are many layers to my work. I myself am a singer/songwriter, Rapper, Motivational Leader, Spiritual Teacher, Mentor, Friend, Daughter, Sister, Cat Mom and your Unicorn vibes Neighbor. I’ve worked in the mental health field as a Peer Support specialist supporting those with mental health disorders and addiction issues when I myself was still understanding my struggles, along with writing about them to perform them for others who were willing to listen. I have worked as a caregiver helping individuals with intellectual disabilities aiding them in their daily lives Along with learning something new within working with each individual. I have volunteered and networked within the Independent Artist world in San Diego & Los Angeles Area and performed on different stages and platforms to inspire others through my music that life is a journey and you will experience struggles, you will experience bliss and that is the beauty of life. Life is Music sometimes it’s sad, sometimes it’s blue, sometimes it’s happy and sometimes it’s screw you.
I’ve worked on myself within these past few years to understand that and be able to live in a way that I’m able to create a life that’s beautiful and be able to influence others in creating there own beautiful life wether that’s on my social media, through the new music I create and share or the old music I share with others in person on a day to day basis. My work is working on myself to create what I believe I’m worthy of no matter the challenges I experience in life. I’m currently working on Networking and collaborating along with building a business that can help me become financially free. That includes creating more content and getting paid for it along with other projects in the making.
I have to say I’m very proud of the struggles in my life because it taught me that if I can struggle and hit rock bottom that I can also look up, get up, continue moving forward and win Again; and Again!

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I’ve had many mentors in my lifetime and how I look at it is anyone can be your mentor, Even your enemies. Yet the most powerful mentor is within us all we just have to discover that. I look at each connection that I’ve either worked with, fell in love with, befriended as some kind of mentor in my life. My mentors have taught me what I didn’t want in my life, why I started this journey in the first place and what I wanted to reach for in this lifetime. We can choose who we become by who we surround ourselves with and what we believe about ourselves so i believe it’s very important to understand that we can become great no matter what even if everyone around us believes otherwise. It’s up to us to know ourselves enough that we believe we deserve greatness.
