Conversations with Feven Mekuria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Feven Mekuria

Hi Feven, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey as a content creator started with a passion for fashion, fitness, and self-care. I’ve always loved putting together outfits, exploring beauty routines, and staying active, so I naturally started sharing my “Get Ready With Me,” outfit styling, and workout videos on TikTok. What began as a fun creative outlet quickly grew into something more as I connected with an audience that resonated with my content.

Over time, I’ve refined my style, improved my content quality, and stayed consistent in sharing authentic moments from my daily routine. My goal has always been to inspire confidence and self-expression, whether through fashion, fitness, or beauty. Now, I’m excited to continue growing, collaborating with brands I love, and bringing fresh, engaging content to my community!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Growing on TikTok took a long time—I had to stay consistent, experiment with different content styles, and keep showing up even when engagement was low. It was frustrating at times, but I stayed committed because I love creating and sharing my passion for fashion, fitness, and self-care.

Now, I’m facing a new challenge as I’ve just started a new Instagram and building an audience there has been even slower. Unlike TikTok, where content can go viral quickly, Instagram requires a different strategy, and growing organically takes time. Despite the struggles, I’m staying focused, learning what works, and staying true to my content style. I know that with patience, persistence, and creativity, growth will come!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work as a content creator goes beyond fashion and fitness—I strive to empower Black and Ethiopian women in my community to prioritize their health, embrace their passions, and believe in their limitless potential. I specialize in fashion, fitness, and self-care content, sharing “Get Ready With Me” videos, outfit styling, and workout routines that inspire confidence and self-expression.

What sets me apart is my holistic approach to health. I value not just physical well-being, but also mental, emotional, and spiritual health. I believe it’s okay not to be okay, but it’s important to take steps toward healing and growth. Through my content, I want to show that women are capable of anything they put their minds to, regardless of age or background. It’s never too late to explore new passions, challenge yourself, and build the life you desire.

I’m most proud of the community I’m building—one that encourages women to show up as their best selves, embrace their journeys, and support each other along the way. My goal is to continue creating meaningful content that uplifts and inspires.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I see the content creation industry evolving in major ways. Authenticity and community-driven content will become even more important as audiences seek deeper connections with creators. The rise of AI and interactive content will also transform how creators engage with their followers, making personalized experiences more common.

In the fashion and beauty space, I expect to see brands focus more on diversity, sustainability, and inclusivity—celebrating real people, different body types, and diverse backgrounds. Wellness and mental health will also take center stage, with more creators emphasizing overall well-being rather than just aesthetics. I hope to be the face which shows representation.

For influencers, long-term brand partnerships will replace one-off collaborations, as companies recognize the power of consistent, trust-based marketing. Social commerce will also grow, allowing creators to sell directly to their audience through platforms like TikTok Shop and Instagram.

My goal is to stay ahead of these trends, continue empowering Black and Ethiopian women, and create content that is authentic, impactful, and inspiring as the industry evolves.
