Today we’d like to introduce you to Gisele Chalhoub.
Hi Gisele, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I studied Fine Arts in my hometown of Beirut, Lebanon. When I moved to San Diego in 1994, my background in art drew me to event design. I began by volunteering to help plan local events, such as church gatherings and charity fundraisers. This is where I started to realize that I could put my creative background to use. Shortly afterward, I hosted my own birthday party, which got the attention of many of my friends. When others started asking me to plan their events, I was inspired to enroll in an Event Management course at a local community college to learn about the business aspect of the industry. That ultimately lead to creating Events By Gisele.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My bachelor’s degree in Art allows me to specialize in Event Design. When working with my clients, I emphasize each unique vision that they have without the use of templates or models. I joined the event business in order to utilize my own creative nature to bring my clients’ visions to life from scratch using the latest trends.
I aim to provide a customized planning experience to each client. I am alongside them from the initial creative process all the way to their event day and beyond. I am proud of the lasting relationships that I have made with my clients throughout the event planning process.
When I see the look on a client’s face as they walk into the ballroom, it brings me joy to know that I have helped them achieve their dream event and beyond.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
After being indoors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have seen a notable shift towards increased desire for outdoor venues. This growing appreciation for the outdoors makes me excited to shift into a more diversified range of spaces to plan a dream event.
As a San Diego event planner, I am looking forward to using the combination of our sunny skies and waterfront locations as the perfect backdrop for a client’s wedding, anniversary, birthday or bar/bat mitzvah celebration.
