Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Hill.
Hi Haley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since high school, I’ve always had some kind of camera in my hand, taking mostly videos of shenanigans with my friends. My first job in San Diego involved me holding, shockingly, a camera! I moved from videos to still photography as I worked for a hospitality management firm and became really good at taking photos of food and also really good at eating that food. I eventually went out on my own in 2018 as a Jill of all trades kind of photographer. The glorious year of 2020 pushed me out of the restaurant industry and landed me firmly in the world of architecture and interiors. I haven’t looked back since 🙂
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s a scary step to leave the security of a corporate job and start your own thing. I went from just being a creative brain to having to develop my business brain – which as an artist, is a little intimidating. If you find the right people to support you, it makes the struggles worth it. I wouldn’t change a thing!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an architecture and interiors photographer based in San Diego. I work with architect firms, interior design studios, general contractors, real estate developers, you get the idea. I’m known for capturing bright, beautiful spaces and for being a loyal, reliable and easy-going partner to my clients. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, essentially having taught myself enough to get myself to this point!
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
You gotta learn to pivot, to adapt, to stay positive and trust the universe always has your back.
