Today we’d like to introduce you to Halie Molino
Hi Halie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Pacific Candle Company was born in Huntington Beach, California. What started as a side hustle in my parents kitchen to help pay off college loans has now grown into my full time job and I love every minute of it. I oversee all aspectes of production, from concept to completion and manage the marketing, customer service, and most in person events. Inspired by the idea that luxurious, elevated, Southern California coastal living is achievable for any space. I believe fragrance is an extension of you and your home.
Our candles are toxin-free and made to stand the test of time, packaged to please the most discerning of homeowners. Our entire collection is vegan, cruelty-free, and phthalate-free, and always will be. All candles are hand-poured, using 100% soy wax.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a small business owner, the highs are very high and the lows are SO low. I’ve bootstrapped the growth of this business the for the 9 years we have operated, and plan to keep doing so. This means I am constantly working to determine what the best ways to spend any business funds to grow it. Sometimes I have invested in things that have not paid off or have been a waste of time, which can be disappointing but I always try to look at it as a learning experience and keep pushing forward! There have certainly been products that I have launched that have had little to no interest, even if I think that they are an amazing product.
I think that the most difficult struggle I have had as a small business owner has been staying consistent in my efforts. There are certainly days and even weeks that go by without any orders, which can feel very disheartening and makes you question if you have made the right decisions. Continuing to work in my business and connecting with other small business owners has been massively impactful in keeping my head up and continuing to push forward.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Pacific Candle Company, I create luxury, hand-poured soy candles that are designed to elevate everyday moments into something extraordinary. I’m most proud of building a brand that blends artistry and purpose. Our products aren’t just candles; they’re a way to create meaningful ambiance and cherish intimate moments. We’ve also worked with corporate clients and individuals on custom orders, allowing them to add a personal touch to events or gifting.
Ultimately, Pacific Candle Company stands out because we don’t just sell candles—we sell an experience, one that embodies luxury, sustainability, and the art of mindful living.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is the ability to create a life and business that reflects my passions and values. I’m driven by the opportunity to channel my creativity into products that bring joy to others and to carve my own path while staying true to what I love. Connecting with people through my candles is incredibly fulfilling, especially when I see them being enjoyed, gifted, or woven into memorable moments in someone’s home.
On a deeper level, I value balance—between work and life, between ambition and connection. I want to grow Pacific Candle Company in a way that allows me to not only achieve my goals but also prioritize time with loved ones and support other small businesses in my community. At the end of the day, what fulfills me most is making progress in my business while maintaining my health, happiness, and appreciation for the vibrant lifestyle Southern California has to offer.
