Conversations with Haylee LaCroix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Haylee LaCroix.

Haylee LaCroix

Hi Haylee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started back in Duxbury, Vermont.  From the time I was little, I was interested in cooking, making imaginary magical potions from gathered objects in nature and would find myself oftentimes more comfortable in the daydream world than in this one.  I can see how these interests have continued to manifest throughout my life, as I still find myself making magical herbal potions, cooking alternative medicinal foods and navigate the daydreaming realm through my intuitive readings, shamanic and ceremonial work.

My path of knowledge began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Vermont.  This helped me grasp the inner workings of the body and to walk alongside the Western route with a clearer understanding of the Western belief system.  I then dove deeply into the Energy Medicine and alternative medicine belief system, as these began to resonate on many levels.  From there, I wanted to understand ancient healing methods with the energetics of food and herbs, so I self-studied Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine principles.  I then became trained in Medical Intuition to intuitively see and understand the true root cause of the disease, rather than solely relying on my mind to do the diagnosis.  With all of these amazing modalities under my belt, I still felt like there was a disconnect deep within myself that I just couldn’t heal.  It was like the entirety of my essence that I was familiar with from childhood, was still hard to connect to and bring forth on a regular basis. This is what brought me to Shamanism, opening up a whole new world of relating to healing dis-ease and is truly what I believe I am here to do for others.  The shamanic path has brought it all together for me and I finally feel like I have been able to connect with and bring forth the best parts of myself and others that felt so distant before.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My path of personal suffering has been the guide of where to go next on my path.  My body has always been sensitive to many components growing up and my soul has always been sensitive to the world.  As I got older, my dietary restrictions increased, my interests and sensitivities to the world remained the same.  When my body started showing signs of an increased impact from the food I was eating, I went on a quest to heal myself, knowing very clearly how I felt when in alignment and out of alignment with a healthy state.  I began going the common route of working with Western Doctors.  All tests were normal and according to everyone I saw, I was “therefore in perfect health” and had nothing to worry about.  But I knew I was far from being in my perfect state of health and so the quest took a different route.  I started an alternative medicine path and this is where the dots started to connect, the fog began to lift and my soul felt in deep resonance with a sense of excitement to learn about these new (and very ancient) ways of addressing dis-ease.

The decision to take my healing in my own hands is no doubt why I am where I am today.  I have worked with countless Alternative Health Practitioners in many forms and have dedicated my life path to healing myself, reclaiming my essence and doing the same for others.  The challenges that life has provided me to move through has inspired me to assist in alleviating suffering for others the best that I can and know how, with my abilities to do so and tools to pull from consistently increasing.  This has become my mission and I am determined to help those who feel disconnected from themselves on any level to reclaim these aspects of their soul’s embodiment. To me, the most beneficial aspect of this work is assisting people with their reclamation of their essence so they feel like they are functioning as their optimal selves.

There have been many ups and downs, frustrations with feeling like I don’t know what the “truth” is for healing someone or myself.  Uncertainties of my path and my mission.  Feeling unclear with what I was putting my time and energy into and doubting my choice to make this my top priority.  I have spiraled many times in a negative perspective, with moments of feeling like I didn’t want to be here anymore.  It’s been intense, but has shown to be worth it.  I have learned so much about myself and life along the way; much of which I could not have read in a book or learned from a teacher.  It has made me who I am and formed the resilience required to walk a path of dedication to this mission.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Alternative Health Practitioner, Medical Intuitive and Applied Shamanic Practitioner.  I have trained in various forms of energy medicine, herbalism, intuitive readings, massage, cooking, Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, and have a degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences. I specialize in medicinal as well as lifestyle intuitive readings and Shamanic work. I have learned how the subtle body holds emotions, how our beliefs create our perspectives which ultimately shape our reality and how we can heal physical ailments by addressing the mental/emotional/spiritual components.  I am always diving deeply into herbalism, studying with as many teachers as I can to more fully understand the healing properties of the wild herbal plants and the proper application of each one. I pull from my knowledge gained through years of study and my personal innate and trained intuitive guidance. Intuition has been the greatest gift to help others on their paths in many forms and to help enhance the lives of others in whatever way is needed most.

I am proud of my resilience and tenacity when it comes to my mission.  It isn’t easy being an entrepreneur and my steadfastness and determination is why I am walking the path that I am walking.  It takes grit and the East Coast perspective I was born into as well as the love and support from my parents has really helped me along the way.  What sets me apart from others is my genuine connection with my clients and my deep desire to help them reclaim the entirety of their essence.  To me, this is all that matters and with the majority of humanity feeling a true sense of joy, embodiment and love, connection, care and change are possible.

Any big plans?
My plan for the future is to implement my certification as an Applied Shamanic Practitioner into my private practice and group ceremonial work.  This will allow me to help others heal themselves with the combination of traditional Shamanic techniques, Buddhist self-inquiry and Depth Hypnosis methods.  It will allow me to dive more deeply into working with plant medicines to assist in the reclamation of one’s essence with the support of Shamanism and Buddhism.  I’m planning to host sacred medicine gatherings and retreats where we can connect deeply to sacred plants, one another and ourselves to ultimately assist in reclaiming our personal power and feel more aligned with our highest selves. I’m currently teaching classes about establishing a healthy relationship with all plant medicines, and guiding others to feel inspired to work with the spirit of the plant they are using for healing.  I have gained a true passion for land stewardship and caring about the livelihood of the plants, so adding in the importance of using less plant material is becoming more inspiring for me to teach about.  Through various healing methods, ritual, ceremony, intuitive readings, plant spirit medicine and everything shamanism has more deeply connected me to, I have found my path for deep healing in many forms.  I have found myself and from here, life can unfold in beautifully unknown ways. I now fully trust in the process of the seemingly random unfolding. There is a lot to come in the near future and it feels very exhilarating.
