Hi Hope, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2023, I got my brows done by the incredible Taylor Steingold, also known as The Browfairy. I was immediately intrigued—not just by the results, but by the artistry behind it. A few months later, I took a leap and enrolled in Taylor’s Browfairy Beginner Nano Brow Masterclass, where I learned everything I know about the craft. Life got busy after that, but I never stopped practicing. I spent time honing my skills, doing behind-the-scenes work, and building the foundation of what would become Altered Naturals.
Today, I’m proud to run Altered Naturals out of my dream space—inside Create & Conquer, Taylor’s own salon. It’s been such a full-circle moment to grow in the very place that first inspired me.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t think any road is ever truly smooth—especially when you’re learning something completely new. Mastering a skill like nano brows takes time, patience, and a whole lot of practice. I’ve spent countless hours behind the scenes refining my technique and growing my confidence.
There were also personal challenges along the way. My mom was diagnosed with cancer and went through treatment for about a year. It was a lot to process emotionally, but thankfully she’s now cancer-free and doing well. On top of that, I’m a full-time mom to two toddlers, ages 2 and 3. Choosing to step away a few days a week to pursue my dream meant leaning on family support and learning to balance ambition with motherhood. It hasn’t always been easy, but every step has been worth it.

At Altered Naturals, I specialize in nano brows—a precise, advanced technique that creates soft, natural-looking hair strokes using a tattoo machine. I’m deeply passionate about enhancing natural beauty in a subtle, sophisticated way that still feels like you.
I’m most proud of the intentional, one-on-one experience I provide. Every brow I design is customized to the client’s unique features, bone structure, and preferences. I take my time to make sure my clients feel confident, heard, and beautiful. I believe in quality over quantity—my goal is never to rush but to create something truly special that enhances, not overpowers.
What sets Altered Naturals apart is the earthy, elevated approach I take to brows. It’s not just about trends—it’s about timeless results that feel authentic. I truly care about each person who sits in my chair, and I want them to leave feeling more in love with their natural self.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’ve been really lucky to have Taylor, The Browfairy, as a mentor—she’s been so supportive and truly helped guide me in the right direction. Through her, I connected with Tejah of Bourbon Brows, who I had the chance to shadow for a day. She even helped me with one of my clients and has been so generous and accessible whenever I have educational questions. Having that kind of support has meant a lot and has really helped me grow—not just in skill, but in confidence, too.
My biggest advice for finding a mentor or building relationships in this industry is to just be real and vulnerable. Don’t be afraid to reach out, ask for help, and show that you’re genuinely eager to grow. People can feel your energy—and when it’s sincere, they’re often happy to share what they know.
