Conversations with Hunter Marroquin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hunter Marroquin.

Hunter Marroquin

Hunter, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey! My names Hunner. I’m 25 years old. I was born in Santa Ana raised in Temecula, and I grew up out here my entire life; I was always into music at a young age, playing guitar piano, and even staring in plays when I was growing up through school. I actually wanted to start a band when I was first making music. Then slowly realized not everyone is aligned with the same vision as you are. I started listening to rap music a couple months after, and it clicked: I can be a solo artist and not have to rely on others to get the job done, and that’s what I’ve been doing for the past 5 years now, every day, just working harder towards my goal to being a performer.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, it hasn’t been smooth; a lot of people doubt you. Don’t give you the time of day; simply just care. Marketing is really hard because you have to have so much capital upfront for any of your investment to be worth it, and trying to work against Instagram, YouTube, and Spotify algorithm is actually one of the most mentally tasking things about the music industry now “am I good enough” “does this song resonate” “am I a good artist” are always lingering in the back of your head. It’s not easy on the way up, but if you believe in yourself, anything is possible, and I feel like good things are coming.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work at a winery on my off time from music. It’s a solid work/life balance while I’m putting all my pieces together. I’m pretty knowledgeable about wine and the Temecula Valley and how we operate as an agricultural city

What do you think about happiness?
Performing, being with friends, traveling. All of those because they go hand in hand. My dream is to tour and perform in front of thousands of people and have them sing with me; every time I perform, it’s such a euphoric high. Having my friends right up on stage with me and will all be traveling
