My journey into event decoration started with a deep love for creativity and celebrating special moments. I’ve always enjoyed crafting and bringing ideas to life, but it wasn’t until I planned and decorated a small family event that I realized how much I loved transforming spaces into something magical.
What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, and I began creating unique decorations for friends and family. Their positive feedback and encouragement inspired me to turn this passion into a business. In 2020, I officially founded UNICO By Ivonne, focusing on refining my style, incorporating high-quality materials, and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in event decor.
Today, my business specializes in personalized and stylish event decorations, from balloon arrangements to stunning backdrops. My goal is to make every celebration feel unique and unforgettable. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to continue growing and bringing joy to my clients through my work!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. Starting UNICO By Ivonne came with its challenges, from learning the business side of things to finding the right suppliers and perfecting my techniques. Since event decoration requires both creativity and logistical planning, I had to continuously improve my skills.
One of the biggest struggles was establishing my brand and gaining visibility in a competitive market. Building trust with clients and showcasing my work took time and dedication. I also had to balance everything—from designing and setting up events to managing customer inquiries and social media—while ensuring each event felt unique and special.
Despite these challenges, every obstacle has been a learning experience that has helped me grow. I truly believe that “the only way to do great work is to love what you do,” and that passion is what drives me every day. Seeing the joy my decorations bring to people’s celebrations makes all the hard work worth it, and I’m grateful for the journey so far.

I’m most proud of the attention to detail and creativity that go into each event. I love designing original concepts and finding ways to make every celebration feel truly special. My goal is to transform spaces into memorable experiences that leave a lasting impression.
What sets me apart is my commitment to personalization. One of my primary materials is vinyl, which I design specifically for each event’s theme and customize for every client. This allows me to create completely unique decorations—even if the theme is the same, no two setups are ever identical. I love finding new ways to make each celebration feel different, special, and one of a kind. Whether it’s a small gathering or a large celebration, I focus on quality, creativity, and making each event one of a kind.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love how our city is full of creativity and a strong sense of community. There’s an incredible appreciation for art, design, and celebrations, which makes it a wonderful place for event decoration. I enjoy working with clients who value unique and beautifully designed events, and I love how the city offers so many opportunities to bring people together through special moments.
If I had to mention something I like least, it would be the challenges that sometimes come with logistics, such as venue restrictions or unpredictable weather that can affect outdoor setups. However, these are just small obstacles compared to all the amazing aspects of the city. At the end of the day, I focus on adapting and finding creative solutions to ensure every event is perfect.
