Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Price.
Hi Jacob, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Music has always been part of my life. I started playing drums when I was 4 and played in my first band at 20. I’ve always wanted more and strived to be the best at whatever I do, so around that time, I started playing guitar, singing, and writing. A couple years go by, and I enjoyed writing lyrics and melodies so much that I wanted to be the one to sing them, even if I was bad at first lol! I released my debut record only a couple months ago and this is only the beginning for me. Music played such an impactful role in my life and helped me get through some of darkest years when I was younger; from the alcohol and drug abuse as a teenager and thoughts about suicide since I was young, music and songs were the one thing keeping me going and those artist will never know the impact they had on my life. I want to be that for others; to share my story and help even one person hurting so they know they are not alone. Life is hard but maybe we can make it a little better one song at a time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has had its ups and downs. Sometimes it feels like it is all for nothing, but keeping my head up and focusing on the goal is the most important thing for me. If anyone has had a checkered past, it’s me, but remembering where I came from to where I am now is the light in the distance. It does get better. I’m so thankful for the friends and people around supporting me through it all.

Well, my name is Jacob Price and I sing/write music. As an artist, I take a blank canvas and try to create something new every day. I play guitar, bass, drums, keys, and whatever instrument I can find. I released a new song on January 6th, 2023, called “Hotel Motel” and I could not be more proud of that track. As an artist, trying to create something new seems daunting but I love the challenge. Not letting a specific genre hinder me from creating music that I love and testing the boundaries of my capabilities is something I strive for every day.
