Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Coronado.
Hi Jacqueline, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My dad would bring his film camera everywhere I can remember while growing up here in San Diego. The Miramar Air Show, San Diego Zoo, biking through the park, and especially the beach. Naturally, I was curious and he always composed a shot for me and would say, “Ok, look through the lens. Do you like it? Ok, press the button.” From there, photography became a passion of mine once I entered high school, all through attending Palomar College to present day. After working for several brands and agencies, I decided to start my photography business full time in June of this year and I haven’t looked back since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road, haha. The biggest struggle I have faced has been myself. Fear, anxiety, and imposter syndrome has been a huge issue for me all throughout my career. I truly never thought I could make a living out of something I’m passionate about, but I kept battling myself to reach that goal someway somehow. These are struggles that I still face today but they aren’t as loud anymore.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a San Diego Brand, Lifestyle and Product Photographer specializing in E-commerce Photography. Although this is my niche, I am especially proud of myself for educating myself in several other fields of photography- Real Estate, Creative Portraits, and Landscape.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Overcoming the Ego. It’s something I continue to work on daily, but looking back on my life a few years ago compared to today, there’s definitely been a successful difference. Why this matters most to me is because it has strengthened my relationships with my family and friends, humbled me greatly, opened my heart, and allowed me to become the person I always wanted to be.
