Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Minotti.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My background and education are in teaching and human services. Early on in my career, I worked with various non-profits and mission-driven businesses. With the businesses I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of, I have always tried to start from community-based and human capital perspectives.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur and or business owner is definitely a blessing and a curse! With the amazing opportunity to follow your interests, dreams and work with amazing people, it also comes with an enormous amount of self-reflection, learning, and responsibility. At this point in my life, while I’ve become more comfortable with the failures, and try to learn from them, I also do my best to focus on the day-to-day successes
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve strived to create business ventures and partnerships that have a mission-driven approach and focus on the power human capital. Whether I am consulting for an organization or focusing on one of my companies, it’s been my goal to start with these ideas in mind.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
When I graduated college and moved out to California, I had the opportunity to work with a non-profit affordable housing developer, now known as National CORE. At that time, the Organization was growing rapidly and in the midst of starting the Hope Through Housing Foundation of which I had the opportunity to be involved. The founder, Jeff Burum, and people like Dorrie Byran and Olen Jones to name just a couple, were huge influences on me and the way I approach business, operations, culture, and people. Olen, who became my personal Yoda for 7 years, taught me an amazing amount about kindness, patience, and empathy in and out of the workplace. I wish I knew then what I know now, as I would have gained that much more out of my time with Jeff, Dorrie, Olen, and the Organization as a whole. They were so far ahead of the curve with training, coaching, personnel development as well as people and culture trends we see as common now.
