Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Guerin and Tianna Curatalo.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
What happens when you bring a color designer, a digitally creative strategist together? Well, the short answer is Ramble + Rue.
Jennifer Guerin a Michigan born, California based color expert who has used her painterly hand to creating, designing and consulting in the design industry for over a decade. One of the few select certified color consultants in the country, her unique style can be seen in commercial and residential venues across California and abroad.
Tianna is what you would call “digitally creative” with several talents ranging from graphic design, social brand strategy, and art direction… just to name a few. A SoCal native, she is spoiled by surf, sunsets and a casual lifestyle that has aided her in the creative path to success. Her personal motto is “inspired by imagination, driven by results,” and she has applied that personal ethos to a broad range of professional experiences along the way.
Ramble + Rue weaves together both locally and internationally sourced goods directly from the artisans. Through our travels and curious nature of developing relationships with those who create, every product has a story that sparks the artist within each one of us. Ramble + Rue reflects our same aesthetic, humor, and unflinching desire to enrich the creative lives of others and are thoughtfully chosen in regards to the environment and the individuals making them.
Each month we aim to bring our talents together with guests from around the globe to showcase collections of products united by a common theme & color story. Each theme will be narrated by either one of the Ramble + Rue team members or a guest artist, who will walk you through their stories and the inspiration for the month’s collection from our travels and Jen’s design experience.
Every month we will open our doors for three days for the event to be shopped if you need to touch and feel the products. If you prefer to shop sans pants you can be first in line to shop the drop on Instagram by following Ramble + Rue or signing up for the newsletter.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We initially started Ramble + Rue back in 2016 but we both couldn’t focus on it since we were still running and growing our own businesses. Fast-forward to December of 2022… we had the opportunity to move into a prime space in Encinitas and we took it. We quickly tried to get all of our ducks in a row business-wise while Jen curated products from a trip to Mexico City, Oaxaca and San Diego to showcase in the shop just before the holidays. Our holiday pop-up shop was a success and we’re excited to bring in some new curated finds from Jen’s travels across the globe this year such as London, Italy, Costa Rica and Mexico.
This month we’re going to focus more on sales through social media platforms while growing our drop-ship options online. Every day we’re learning and growing, and we’re excited to see where the NEW Ramble + Rue will take us…

Jennifer Guerin:
Jennifer Guerin is an interior designer and color expert who has used her painterly hand in creating, designing and consulting in the industry for over two decades. She is one of the few select certified color consultants in the country, her unique style can be seen in commercial and residential venues across California and abroad. Projects range from forecasting colors for large branding companies & complex architectural communities to designing retail establishments, modern urban lofts, and even large-scale luxury homes. She is a graduate of SDSU, the Eiseman Color Institute and holds a degree in Color Design from the IACC-NA.
Along with some amazing residential projects, she has created incredible spaces for local spots like Santo Tomas Collective Salon, Gura Tattoo, Tahona/ Occulto 477 and Hidden Craft in San Diego just to name a few.
She thinks outside the box and gives each project a little special, something that no one else has. Let’s just say she’s Pinterest-worthy x10.
Tianna Curatalo:
With her entrepreneurial spirit and a keen sense of design trends, Tianna has a true passion for helping businesses successfully build their brands. Utilizing her talents in social media, marketing, and design, she has created and implemented brand strategies for everything from large companies to local small businesses. She earned a degree in Merchandise Marketing from FIDM in Los Angeles and went on to graduate from the Art Institute in San Diego with a B.S. degree in Advertising. Her motto is “inspired by imagination, driven by results,” she has applied that personal ethos to a broad range of professional experiences over the past 12 years that has led her to operating a successful digital agency specializing in web design and branding and now adding to the list, co-founder of Ramble + Rue.
Tianna specializes in website and branding and has taken charge of the marketing/design/social of Ramble + Rue while Jen curates products from venders and her travels. Together they make a great team, and can’t wait to see where R+R will take them.
Tianna is a mom of twin 5-year-old boys and 2.5 boy – she’s most proud of being a stay-at-home-mom while running a successful agency and starting Ramble + Rue back up
Her individual care and attention for each client sets Tianna apart. She’s passionate about her client’s success and only delivers the highest standard of work.
What do you think about luck?
We have learned from mistakes, gotten older, wiser, lucky, and unlucky, but the journey has led us back to this path today, and we’re hoping there’s a little luck sprinkled in with our hard work.
