Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Ikel.
Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I worked in the corporate world my whole adult life but was always finding different outlets for my creativity. When my last job was moving locations and I would have a long commute I decided to move my career in a different direction. With my husbands support I quit my corporate job and started my flower business. Never would I have imagined the success it would be.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest struggle was an internal struggle about advertising. it is an expensive venture but how would anyone know about my business if I did not advertise? So I took the leap and it was a successful leap. My other challenge was not immediately hiring someone to help me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a wedding florist, I only do events and weddings, you would not call me to deliver a bouquet to your loved one. What I am most proud of is my customer service, I have close to 200 five star reviews and almost everyone of them mentions my customer service. There are hundreds of florist out there, how I have set myself apart is my service. I reply to every email even if I don’t have an answer it might be to just let them know I am working on it, in doing that they do not feel ignored.
What matters most to you?
My family, they are my inspiration for everything I do, they are also my biggest cheerleaders and have always supported me.
