Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Jennifer! My husband Stephan and I have 2 amazing young adult children, Olivia and Nicolas. I have lived in Temecula for 26 years. I’m originally from Poway, CA and moved to the beautiful Temecula Valley after we got married. We have loved raising our family here. We enjoy the beach, hiking, and mountain biking and Temecula is a great location as we are nestled between the mountains and the coast.
In March of 2020, as America was shutting down because of the rapidly spreading covid virus, I was home, unable to work. We were all anxious, confused, and not sure what the future would look like. Like many, I was enjoying the time with my family but also began to think of ways I could stay busy. In April I was on a Zoom call with a group of girlfriends which quickly became our way of connecting with friends and family. I was brainstorming on what to do for my son’s 16th birthday that was a few weeks away. One of my friends said, “Get a ‘Card My Yard’”. I promptly looked it up and found that there wasn’t a Card My Yard franchise that serviced my area. The friend told me that I should open one in Temecula! Card My Yard was becoming quite popular in a handful of California communities. This small business that started in Austin, TX was growing across the country and I didn’t want to waste any time. I jumped on the opportunity to own my own small business during a precarious time in the country and throughout the world. I opened on July 20th, 2020. Today, Card My Yard Temecula is a thriving small business that is growing in popularity every day! The best part of my story is that I get to spread joy in the community I love!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Card My Yard has made owning this franchise so wonderful. They provide all the resources I have needed, including training and a very customer-friendly website. It has been a lot of work, but I am truly blessed to have found so much support from Card My Yard. My biggest challenge has been creating space for my growing inventory. We have so many beautiful graphics and alphabets and I try to keep it fresh!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Card My Yard Temecula provides yard greetings in Temecula and Fallbrook for special occasions such as birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, welcome home, new baby, etc.
We are the premier yard card company as our alphabets and graphics are eye-catching and larger than our competitors. Our signs have a signature look that you can immediately identify as Card My Yard. I’m BIG on attention to detail and the quality of each and every set up is important to me. Bringing smiles to families and businesses in our community is my priority!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Having a great product is important but customer service is the key! I make sure that my customers have confidence in the service they are paying for.
Our website is user-friendly and efficient. The customer will get a confirmation email as well as text messages with all of their order details including the time frame of when the signs will be set up and taken down. I love getting feedback as I am continuously improving the service I provide.
