Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Rodriguez.
Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The herbs of our ancestors, our empowerment as women and our cannabis knowledge this our movement!
The Idea of CANNAXICANACLUB came to me while working in the cannabis industry, I wanted to create a business that supports & represents my culture.
I started creating resin art because I wanted to combine a mix of my roots, graffiti, hiphop & cannabis culture. My business is a representation of women & hustlers that have followed the values of our ancestral history and willing to share the herbs with different generations. One of the things I love to do is bringing that twist into my brand by being able to collaborate with different small businesses to support our local vendors, community & raza.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was difficult to get the recognition I deserved especially as a Chicana working in the cannabis industry. I started just like everyone else moving from trap shop to trap shop & over-working myself. As women, we are the fastest growing consumers of cannabis but, we are still missing the recognition we deserve. During the time, I worked at my first legal shop the representation that the cannabis culture had on the shelves within the black & Latino community were very low. Cannabis consumption has been stigmatized and my goal is to make a change in cannabis, culture and women. As we connect, learn and inspire one – another about physical, emotional, spiritual, & personal issues.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Throughout the years I did my own research on cannabis, herbs & the women’s body. I wanted to build a formula that will help women feel good while consuming cannabis in a different way and show some tender, love & care to the genital area. So thats when the idea of “Sabor A Mi” Intimacy oil began, I developed a coconut oil that contains cannabis & organic herbs which helps enhance sensation and pleasure during intercourse as well as reclaiming your inner self & building confidence when being sexual active.
We are known for our “Chingona Of The Month” which is choosing a woman owned business that has helped out the community & has made an impact to our cultura.
I teamed up with my friend known as “Buer” a talented San Diego local artist and known for his digital art. We decided to collaborate and bring our ideas to life by combining our vision, we successfully came out with amazing designs to present our Chicano culture.
What does success mean to you?
Success is learning from your mistakes, sacrificing your time but most importantly to love what you’re doing. I want to be the type of woman who helps other women see that if I can do it, they sure as hell can too.
