Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Ramay.
Joshua, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was 19 years old when the Universe mugged me. As a happy intellectual, I had absolutely no idea that there was such a thing as awakening, spirituality, or Spirit. One afternoon that all changed. After a life-altering spiritual awakening, I dropped out of college to explore spiritual paths, metaphysical knowledge, and my consciousness in general. After acquiring a restaurant job and working the industry for a few years, I was led by others to consider a career in massage therapy. It seemed intuitively like a correct fit, as I was searching for a way to apply, through service, my newfound spiritual insights, and knowledge. I was blessed to find the International Professional School of Bodywork in Pacific Beach (IPSB). The school was among the best in the world and had students from all over the globe. It felt like I was attending Hogwarts; my teachers were leaders in their respective fields (in some cases pioneers) and mystical to the nth degree. My consciousness and experience exploded with over 1000 hours of training, especially in the Somatic, or Soul-based, approaches. By the time I graduated, I had become a Reiki Master Teacher, specializing in Craniosacral Therapy twice. Armed with this knowledge, I began a long career in massage lasting 19 years and over 15,000 sessions. During this time, it became obvious that the energy healing modalities were far more effective than those with applied physical pressure. I redoubled my research into spiritual masters, their techniques, and how they might effectively alleviate the suffering of my clients and further develop my own relationship to Life or Spirit. I held Reiki classes for those who wished to learn, but I felt there were even more powerful approaches to transformation and healing. I found the penultimate solution in Matrix Energetics. Created by Dr. Richard Bartlett in Seattle, Matrix Energetics was taught in a seminar format over a weekend. My spiritual life and connection to Creation exploded again in spectacular fashion. Then I retired from massage and committed to only offering the most powerful energy healing possible for my clientele.
At this point, I began to write my book, “Profanity?! How I Went from an Atheist to a Quantum Wizard in Less than a Decade.” Dr. Bartlett wrote a very kind review of the book, and I was beyond thrilled because he was and is my healing hero. I was basically attempting to explain to people with no spiritual experiences how someone can go from being an ardent atheist to a practicing mystic and the psychological processes at every step of the way. How your mind creates your reality (Law of Attraction) and does so every second of every day. Also, how to get out of your own way and use it constructively (prayer and meditation). Stuff like that.
Now I have a lovely office in Pacific Beach, California where I offer Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy, and Matrix Energetics for clients that are in pain, are looking for spiritual direction, emotional releases, or breaking habits. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not always a smooth road. I had to sleep in my car for several months after my awakening experience, before getting the restaurant job. That’s a pro tip for those seeking to re-enter society…get a restaurant job, because you not only get an income, but you can get food for free sometimes if you’re in good with the cooks!
Nothing but Grace and ease after that! Following a spiritual path or a religion is a pathway to ease and community.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am known for the most powerful energy healing in San Diego. Hands-down! Many of my clients have experienced a complete cessation of pain in only a 60-minute session. If you have neck or back issues, I’m your guy.
I am happy to offer Reiki classes, that I have an entertaining book and a really great podcast. I love healing, evolving on a daily basis, and helping others do likewise.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
I used to sing in a show choir in high school called Guys and Dolls at Helix High School in La Mesa. This was before the show Glee. It was fun to go to competitions with my friends and to sing the Star-Spangled Banner in front of our whole school. It was also the first place where I used to give massages to my classmates. I loved Helix High School and still do.
