Hi Karen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I want to take more control of my life and more quality time with my kids! That’s how The Brow Room started!
Hi I’m Karen a licensed esthetician in San Diego. I am currently a mom, wife and business owner. I grew up in Mexico and just came to the United States to take a medical billing course. Did medical billing for 3 years and I loved it. Fast forward I had a baby girl and realized I had to go back to work in a blink and I was like nope! I need to do something that gives me more time!
That’s when I met up with my best friend and she said you love beauty take a course and see if you like it and open your own business, sounded so good but almost impossible at the time. I took the course fell in love with brows started esthetician school and here we are! Happy, fulfilled, and with the time I need to spend with my family.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been the most difficult/brave thing I’ve done, I think that’s how I would describe this journey. I started this journey with 0 clients, the first year was the most difficult because is all about learning where you want to go, trying to get new clients to your door, and maintaining the faith.

I am a licensed esthetician with a studio in Mira Mesa offering Brow waxing, lamination, tint, body waxing and lash lifts. I specialize in brows, I have a passion for transforming eyebrows.
What sets me and my business apart is the attention to detail as soon as you step into my place, for me the most important is to make sure you have a relaxing service. Listening to my clients needs is my priority, I don’t perform services without communicating to my client with details and explaining the process.

Success is when you give your everything into what you are passionate about and success happens because of your passion.
