Conversations with Kaylee Guler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylee Guler

Hi Kaylee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been interested in the beauty world since as long as I can remember. Those who grew up with me knew me as always having my lashes. or brows done. I took pride in taking care of myself and it made me feel good. After highschool I was trying to find something that I was passionate about so I started doing mobile lash extensions with close family and friends. Shortly after I realised I LOVED it and wanted to turn it into a full time career. I began looking into esthetician schools and how to pivot myself into a licensed professional.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey is still quite fresh for me but what I’ve been through so far is nothing short of easy. During esthetics school which I started in August of 2024, I worked full time as well as attending school full time. That itself was a challenge truly learning time management, money management and more in the current while trying to build for my future. To be honest it was definitely an adjustment learning that I wouldn’t have alot of free time, or time like I used to wanting to be social or be the young adult I am. I knew if I wanted to build my business I had to sacrifice my time now to get to where I wanted to be. Currently being a newly licensed esthetician my current obstacles are having to be all the things at once to keep my business afloat. It’s a busy journey but one I wouldn’t ever NOT do again. My biggest piece of advice to new estheticians or anyone wanting to join the industry is be patient with yourself and don’t compare your path to anyone else’s. Know that there will be times that your business is slow, unbooked and feeling like no one is watching. I encourage people to stay consistent and keep moving always even it’s just posting content or learning more knowledge even on your free time. Everyone’s timeline is different and it’s okay at times to feel stuck or be in the unknown. It’s all part of the process and will make you grateful to know how hard you worked to get to where you want to be.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I perform full body waxing, brow art (shaping, laminations and tints), as well as lash art (extensions, lifts and tints). I started with my foot in the industry doing only lash extensions but I’d like to specialise in all of the above, especially waxing. I’m most proud of my work ethic and my passion to fulfill my clients dreams! I love trying new things and new obstacles and my biggest goal is for my clients to know I’m there for them! I want everyone to feel comfortable in my chair and know it’s okay to finally speak up with a beauty provider on their dos and don’ts. Especially because they’ll be paying for it! I believe my personality as a whole sets me apart from other estheticians because I wholeheartedly mean it when I say everyone is welcome. All HS scars, body pigmentation, uneven brows or lashes, natural smells and more are all something I’ve seen before. I don’t want any of my clients skimming my page but nervous to book because they feel uncomfortable or like they can’t trust their provider.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Throughout my esthetician career so far I accredit a lot of my current success to my teacher from school, Mr. Waddy. He was a tremendous help and he definitely got me started on the right foot.

Out of school I’ve enjoyed taking online classes and reading articles about anything beauty. Lash and Wax OC/ Rebel Wax has also been a great tool on all platforms. I suggest all estheticians to look and focus on other creators, businesses or teachers who can provide knowledge throughout your path, I find them to be extremely helpful. I also suggest leaning on fellow estheticians to learn together and keep each other updated on the current trends because I honestly feel like there’s so many!😂
