Hi Kelsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I like to say I’m in the business of holding a space for others to heal. I started my journey becoming a Yoga Instructor and Reiki healer and really fell in love with Selfcare. Fast forward a year or so my now Sister-in-law was an Esthetician and I fell in love with what she was doing. I started my journey during Covid when schools were basically shut down and only online… long story short I learned a whole lot of nothing. So, I spent countless hours studying and reaching out to as many Estheticians as I could to keep learning all while having 2 babies under 2! It took me about 2 years to really niche down and find my space in this Industry. I’m a Licensed Holistic Esthetician, who specializes in Lymphatic Drainage and healing Acne.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I want to say my journey has been anything but smoothed. I jumped around a lot when I first started, I was home-based, then went to work at a brow bar found out I was pregnant with my second baby, and headed back to home-based. I truly felt so defeated but then a space right down the street became available and I jumped on it! I shared a space with another Esthetician and we eventually found another girl to share the room with! My business started to really grow and thrive and I was learning so much about facials, skincare, and building a business. I took a few months off to enjoy time with my newborn and then jumped back into business at a new location! Which unfortunately became a disaster and ended with me parting ways with the other Estheticians and becoming a true Solo Esthetician! Fast forward to today and hired my first employee Spenser! And we’re currently looking to expand and I’ll be adding coaching for Estheticians to my many services!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Holistic Esthetician meaning our facials are a whole mind, body, soul experience with a lot of intuitive massage. I don’t just see your skin and evaluate it I see you as a human, your skin tells a story and I love watching your journey unfold. We deep dive into the root of any skin issue/ concern, we do a lot of soul-searching and healing. My mission is to provide luxury, holistic and result-driven treatments, all while tending to the inner workings of your body and energetic field. I have a true calling for healing skin and Lymphatic Drainage that promotes flushing out the toxins of your system to release all tensions and letting go of any negative energy that no longer serves you. All my treatments are infused with botanical ingredients which help connect us to Earth. My favorite way to explain skinxsoul care is our body is an Ecosystem. (Just let that sink and take what you want from that!) Everything I do, I do with intention whether it’s in the treatment room, social media, reaching out to clients, they honestly become like family. I truly have the best clientele and I’m beyond thankful for them and my growing tribe!
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I feel like the majority of my clients know the ins and outs of my life! But for those who don’t, I’m a nurturer by nature. I’m a mother of 2 boys, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 chickens! And a whole lot of indoor plants and an outside garden! I think it’s no surprise that I love nature and connecting with the Earth and those around me. I’ve always been into anything artistic or sports-related which I believe led me to being an Esthetician! One thing I do want to touch on is I’m a huge mental health advocate. I’m extremely open about my struggles, it’s something I’ll never shy away from and I’m extremely proud of myself and everyone for being the person they are today and more importantly for still being here! I’ve struggled with anxiety, depression/PPD among so many other things and I’ve found the majority of my clients have as well. I didn’t find my people till I met my clients! Trust in the universe and all good things will come! Life is a journey as my husband says “don’t fight it, ride it” and as annoying as it was to hear I often find myself saying this when I’m struggling with something. (But don’t tell him I said that) lol
