Today we’d like to introduce you to Louis Rodiger.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been a musician first, but after my band broke up, I started being interested in photography. I used to write music by getting inspiration from movies and pictures, now it’s the other way around; music is a big influence on my photography.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Learning photography was easy, but life wasn’t at the time. I was going through a breakup, and I couldn’t write music anymore, so I went on experimentation mode, and that lead me to ayahuasca ceremonies and all kinds of craziness.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
There are two sides to my photography; one is on music artist; I’ve work with Perry Farrell from Janes Addiction, Johnny Marr from the Smiths, Pixies, members of The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and more. I do album covers and band photos for publications like Rollings Stone and others. At the moment, I’m working on my first book.

My other side in photography has been fashion editorials, but now it’s turning into fine artwork. Here’s where I try to interpret my astral projections, things I see in my dreams, past life regressions, and my studies in astrology and magic. I’m also working on a book an exhibition for this.

I specialize in film photography, and I usually shoot in black and white.

Some of the things I’m most proud of must be my exhibition in NYC that happened this year and the work I’ve done in album covers.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking.
I’m Aries ascendant, so anything impulsive or risk-taking works on my favor; this is the fire element in me. I can be very mental at times and be stuck in my imagination and forget to act, so I’ve learned to act first and figure things out as I go, whether it is a new lighting technique I’m trying out, sending emails to artist or just buying a one-way ticket to Switzerland. I have a musical background, so I know how to improvise as I go. Some of my impulsive ticket buying have led me to take a workshop in Poland, photograph an artist in Paris, and I’ve driven a Vespa in Naples with no experience whatsoever; my girl had the best time, but I don’t think she will try that again.
