Hi Luciana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It All Started With A Winter Wedding… After Designing my Own Wedding Gown, my mother’s gown and bridesmaids gowns for my Intimate Black Tie Wedding On The Slopes Of Deer Valley, Utah, I Dreamt Of An Evening & Cocktail Gown Line That Featured Oversized Bows, Couture Detailing, The Finest Of Fabrics, And A Classic Yet Modern Approach To Evening Wear. After several people reached out about wanting to purchase the pieces that were worn, I decided to start a collection of my own. That’s when Luciana Emilia was born.
Luciana Emilia is now worn by mother of the brides/grooms, brides-to-be, wedding guests, gala attendees, celebrities and more across the country to the most elegant of soirées.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! I had no fashion background whatsoever so I was absolutely clueless on where to start. At the time I was living near San Francisco and would spend hours on end researching pattern makers, manufacturers, fabric suppliers, etc and it seemed like each connection always led to another. I was very fortunate that my mother-in-law had a fashion background and was such a huge mentor along the way.
From the outside fashion is so glamorous and chic but once I started creating my own line I really began to appreciate how many components and how much hard work goes into making a single dress complete.

Luciana Emilia Is A Luxury Evening Wear Label That Longs For Elegant Soirées, Formal Affairs, Glamorous Galas, Blushing Brides, And The Merriest Of Moments! Each Gown Is Sewn In A California Atelier And Authenticated With Its Own Luxury Label As A Piece That Will Be Worn And Cherished.
Luciana Emilia has a heavy focus on mother of the bride and groom. It is such an honor when mothers wear an LE gown for such a special and important occasion.
I love that we have stayed true to the look from the very beginning. Everything from the timeless silhouettes to the luxurious silk fabrics, we haven’t strayed away from what we believe to be timeless.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think luck plays a little role in everything that we do however, meeting people in the industry, talking to customers, responding to feedback and taking the leap of faith has been so important. My mom always taught me that if you don’t ask the answer is always ‘no’. It’s so important to go after what you want, as you never know what opportunities may arise. If one door closes there is always a better one coming.
