Conversations with Luckie Carrasco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luckie Carrasco

Hi Luckie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Luckie “Trnxty” Carrasco is a Krumper and Leader in the community whose goal is to uplift and give back. She began her Krump journey July 26, 2014. She used this dance as a way to cope with the passing of her father. What first started off as an emotional release for her turned into a passion. She would train and lab for hours a day. She took many Krump workshops at the beginning of her journey to help her grow. She fell in love with the session also known as the Heart of Krump. She later Co-Founded “The Get Off” located in Oceanside California January 2019. The Get Off inspires to impact the lives of many around the world and invest in the next generation. Her affiliations are The Get Off, Konkrete Fam, and BlxckHeartz. She has represented Krump on many platforms such as RedBull Dance Yours Style, WOD, URBN Water, Snoop Dogs music video, and has traveled around the world to teach and battle. She Co-Hosts an Annual Krump event every year. Mark your calendars for August 16-17th 2025 you won’t want to miss it. She would love to say “Thank you to God and everyone who has poured into me on this journey. I’ve had some of the most amazing mentors and feel really blessed and grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given. To anyone reading this I hope I can inspire you to chase your dreams with no limits. Do things you’re afraid to do, because that’s where growth resides.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This has not been a smooth road at all, but definitely one that helped me grow and become who I am today. The obstacles that I faced were really with myself. I called it the Me vs Me phase. Often times I would self doubt and self sabotage myself as a way to get out of things that I was scared to do. If you know Krump then you know this is not an easy dance mentally, physically , or emotionally. I chose to face my fears by strengthening my weaknesses. I started to meditate, journal, stretch, breath work, exercise, read books for mastering your mind and controlling your emotions, I even changed my whole diet & completely cut out junk food. These things all had a significant impact on where I am today in my life. Now I have the mindset to see obstacles as the universe challenging me to grow and think out of the box.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in Krump, which is a dance founded in South Central La. I am an instructor at Culture Shock San Diego. I Co teach with Hybrd and many other places around the world from Philippines, Costa Rica, Bay Area, Mexico, Kansas City, etc. I teach in Middle Schools through Lemon Grove district. I work with people of all ages. I was blessed with the opportunity to work with the blind. I remember when I first started class I said if there is something too hard for you let me know. He said “ I have no limitations”. That will forever live in my heart. I am proud of the community we have built. What started off as us dancing in parking lots turned into a whole movement. What sets me apart from others is being myself. I take inspiration from many things, but have always remained true to who I am. I believe that I will continue to be blessed as long as I move with a pure heart, good intentions, and give back to others.

What’s next?
I am Looking forward to The Get Off 2025 Event August 16-17th in Oceanside Ca. It is a two day Krump Event that consists of Battles, tournaments, special performances, and vendors.
