Luis Guillen JR

Hi Luis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My mom decides to sign me up to baseball with my cousins to keep my mind busy. My baseball career started at Sunshine Little League and then moved over to Rolando Little League Then my coach “John Flores” believed in me to be a great player that he took me on over to the lemon Grove Prospects, were I have become a better and never giving up player in my career as a LEFTY baseballer my positions are 1st base man, 3rd base man, and Pitcher and I’m glad she did because I ended up loving the sport. My mom’s Brother Salvador Hernandez used to play for Oak Park Little League when he was young, and now that he passed, I want to be the next in line in my family to be the next baseball player. Plus, my uncles and cousin all play baseball and have taught me so much on how to be a good base baller and always tell me, “You play how you practice.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning, it was hard because I never ever played baseball and learning how to catch the ball. I was always afraid of being hit I have been hit with the ball a few times and boy let me tell you it hurts. But I think it made me stronger plus playing with my cousins and my uncles who also play softball for the tomalocos team in Santee they have taught me to never give up and pushed me to be a better player. Of course with the help of My coaches coach WILL, coach JOHN, coach GABE they have pushed me to shine and not give up, especially if I make a mistake or if I’m get mad at myself. They always tell me that they like that I never get mad and always welling to fix my mistakes and try again.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I think what sets me apart from most players is that I’m 9 years standing at 4’9 height, and a lefty gives me more of an advantages when it comes to batting and pitching.

I’m Proud that I found the love for baseball and that I could see the smile on my families face when I hit the ball far or when I strike players out when I pitching

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I have the MLB game on my PS5 that I learn and like to play, and I also have the MLB app to watch the game when the padres are playing
