Conversations with Marco Montero

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco Montero.

Hi Marco, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a guitarist, composer and music producer originally from Costa Rica. I started doing Youtube videos playing guitar in 2011 and as the time goes on the project has grown.

Last year, 2021, I went to San Diego for vacation and the trip was so inspiring that I decided to create something more. During the trip I wrote a song titled “San Diego” and I filmed some videos of the experience and created a music video out of them.

The project continued growing and I wrote music for a full Album (26 min) titled “New Adventures” with the concept of reinventing oneself and also to have a short movie to go along with the album.

I was in San Diego filming the locations I want to portray in “New Adventures” so the general idea is to publish the album on May 2022 alongside with a short movie with San Diego adventures.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve always had in mind the idea of producing music and videos but it has been a long ride. One of the most important struggles I’ve faced is to find the correct inspiration.

And I found it on my trip to San Diego.

I wanted to create music with a concept and the idea of “New Adventures” came to my mind when I was saying in San Diego and it’s coming to reality soon.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a guitarist, music producer and enthusiast videographer. I have a youtube channel with 1.4k subscribers and 287.536k views in total. During the years I’ve been recording and producing guitar music and guitar products related content.

Recently I’m producing my debut music/video album titled “New Adventures” that includes some of the singles I’ve already published (songs like “San Diego”, “Pistacha”, “El Gangster”…)

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Playing the piano. I started playing music with piano at age 8, right now I’m no longer a pianist but I’ve always had some nostalgia for it.
