Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Berry.
Hi Mike, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started out by getting booked to do shows in downtown San Diego almost every weekend. I was performing with my group I was in called MoneyFirst. After years of doing shows and albums, I decided to create my own media outlet which is called EMEF.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a difficult road trying to be an artist, clothing designer and run a media company. It is hard sometimes to switch modes between the three.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a recording artist, engineer, music producer, and I also design the clothes for EMEF. I have recorded some of the most popular rap artists in San Diego, CA. I also shot music videos all across America, I have done music videos and popup shops in Atlanta, Miami, New York, Seattle, Denver, New Mexico, Chicago, Texas, New Orleans, Oregon, Arizona, Las Vegas, Jacksonville and places out of the country such as Tulum, Cancun, Cabo, Toronto and Paris.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anyone just starting out, I would say don’t give up no matter how much you feel discouraged, consistency is key.
