Today we’d like to introduce you to Billy and Rachel Robertson.
Hi Billy and Rachel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We call ourselves an “Adventure Society”; The Modern Day Pirates is a tribe of people around the globe, cross cut from just about every walk of life. What started with a group of friends sharing adventures over the last 20 plus years, has become an international society focused on Adventure, Charity, Community, Mentorship and Self-Improvement. These make-up our five pillars that we are building this organization around.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
In the manifestation of this organization we have had had hurdles for sure. This was in origin a very organic concept that has matured over the years with lessons learned along the way, such as event and time management, team-building and mediation, This has led to a very in depth Articles of Conduct that is an ever evolving living document. MDP is now a diverse community of people willing to put aside the B.S., i.e. politics and religion, and work together in the name of Adventure, Community, Mentorship, Charity and Self-Improvement. One of our members even describes us as an adult summer camp.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We believe your life should be your greatest work of art! For us this Organization has brought so much more depth, color, texture and new unforeseen chapters to this life…truly treasure more valuable than gold.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
1) Live this life to the fullest, seeking experiences, because the greatest treasure is in the adventures.
2) Don’t pretend to have the answers. We are all on a path, a journey that is our own and from time to time our paths intersect with others and we get to share in these experiences with our brothers and sisters, forming bonds we will carry into eternity. The only way for these memories to stay pure is to be unfouled by misconception, doubt and fear.
3) Be a light, a beacon for others wherever your adventures take you, so that they can know the serenity that can only be found in truly living and being in the moment.
4) You can be a positive, neutral or negative in this existence so choose wisely!
