Today we’d like to introduce you to Nader Saadallah
Hi Nader, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve had a dream of becoming a film director since I was 17 years old—something related to media in general. I’ve always had a passion for capturing frames with my eyes, seeing the world as pictures, lines, and shapes.
I started by taking photos and videos with my phone, which eventually led me to participate in photography exhibitions. Wanting to specialize further, I decided to study cinema and theater. I initially tried to enroll in the High Institute of Cinema in Egypt, but when that didn’t work out, I pursued a degree in theatrical direction at the Faculty of Arts, where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
Alongside my studies, I continued practicing photography, videography, and documentary filmmaking. Over time, my dedication led me to win 88 awards in photography and documentary filmmaking.
Three years ago, I moved to the U.S., and I’m looking forward to making my dream come true here. I’m still striving for an opportunity to break into the world of cinema while continuing to follow my passion.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not easy to get a steady job in the arts in general. We need to pay our bills, and you also need to be creative to attract more work and clients. The road is definitely not smooth.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I consider myself a documentary photographer, but since moving to the USA, I have focused more on commercial photography and videography. I work in various categories, including portrait, kids, family, newborn, maternity, wedding, commercial advertising,Fashion, events, and automotive photography.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My dad has been a great supporter of me since I was 17, always encouraging me to follow my passion. Along with that, my mom’s daily prayers have always been a source of strength for me.
