Conversations with Natalia Seliger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Seliger.

Hi Natalia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi there! My name is Natalia Seliger. I was born and raised in Orange County, California.
I started an instagram page and started posting my wellness journey in January 2020, right before the pandemic hit. I had gone through a weight loss transformation, and an eating disorder in the past that I decided to share openly, to help anyone going through the same struggles. I wanted my page to be a source of hope for anyone who was feeling defeated or unseen. By being vulnerable and open about my story, I gained a following and a community that has gone through a similar path / is still going through it.
I am very passionate about all things wellness, self love, and transparency. Social media is filled with comparison, and I just wanted my page a people can come to feel safe, inspired, and seen.

Since gaining a following in 2020, I decided that helping people through sharing my journey and experiences is what I was meant to do.
In 2021 I decided to drop out of my junior year of college to take social media full time. I got a management team, moved to LA, and have continued sharing my wellness tips and tricks to having a balanced lifestyle. I am now currently studying for my NASM exam to be a certified personal trainer! I am happy with the risk I took to get to where I am currently and am very excited for all the future opportunities and dreams I have to continue chasing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road to get to where I am right now! Lots of uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and conversations that had to be had. Telling my parents I was dropping out of college to pursue social media full time was a hard pill to swallow for them, but once they saw the impact I was making in people’s lives and how passionate I was to pursue this, they understood and have since been supporting me the entire way. There are also lots of mental health struggles I have faced in sharing my life online and being vulnerable, but as long as I help at least one person with sharing my experiences, it’s worth it to me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am known for my realness and mental health struggles that I openly share online. I am also known for just being a light when people need a source of inspiration or hope. My page is a place where I want people to feel safe and seen, so by me sharing my not so good days, it helps my community feel like they are not alone. I am proud of myself for being so open and sharing my truth, even when it doesn’t seem like the “trendy” thing to do. It’s my honesty and transparency that sets me apart. I just want everyone to feel seen and like they have a friend when they are feeling alone, because growing up on social media can feel very isolating when your just seeing all the highlights and trips and good things people are sharing. But I wanted my page to have a balance of both, for people to know that not everything you see online is perfect and curated. It’s the low moments that we need to see too sometimes to know that we all are human.
