Hi Noe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We grew up on a ranch, and we love the outdoors. When we were kids, we found an old map that listed abandoned treasure mines across Baja and spent our weekends finding and exploring the mines and getting to know the land. The trails were rugged, and we learned how to customize our trucks to handle the rugged terrain. The more we explored remote areas, the more we loved them, and we began leading excursions to camp on deserted beaches, forgotten mountain meadows, and hidden canyons. San Diego is a beautiful place to live, but nature is where we find peace and reconnect with our roots.
In time, more and more people asked us to help them modify their trucks and lead them to great camping spots, so we decided to open Zebra Adventures 4×4 & Off-Road Shop. We are located on Miramar Road, but you may see us driving around town in our Zebra 4×4 trucks. We can handle all the maintenance, upgrades, and modifications for your truck, jeep, or van. But that comes second. First, we want to get to know you and what you like doing when you go outdoors. Camping? Hiking? Mountain Biking? Racing? Friends, Family, or pets? Weekend warrior or more extended trips? Our experience has taught us that your truck needs to be a reflection of you and what you want to do. With that information, we help customize your vehicle to ensure it gets you there, makes your time enjoyable, and most importantly, gets you back safely.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to success is never easy, and we have experienced many challenges. Many go camping and exploring the backcountry without the proper tools and supplies, which can result in dangerous situations and damaged vehicles. We always carry extra food, water, and fuel in case we meet someone who needs help. Meeting people on the trail is usually how we get new customers.
Our biggest challenge is that most of our advertising comes from referrals, and we need help getting the word out. Another big challenge is the rising cost of auto parts due to the new tariffs and the high cost of gasoline. Exploring the great outdoors takes lots of gas, and the increasing gas prices make it more expensive.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Factory-trained automotive tech with over 25 years of experience, most of my career has been leading teams of techs at car dealerships. In recent years, the auto dealerships have been purchased by large corporations, and the culture has changed to focus more on making money and less on the employees. The dealers began charging very high prices for basic services, and the employees were paid less. This led me to decide to open my own shop, where we focus on affordable prices, excellent customer service, and a family-oriented workplace.

First and most importantly, please help us protect the outdoors. Take only pictures and leave only footprints. Off-road responsibly and follow all fire safety precautions.
Second, call us or stop by the shop! We love to meet people who love spending time in the outdoors, and many times we can save you time and money by recommending higher-quality products, taking care of little issues (before they become big issues), and sharing tips on great places to visit.
