Today we’d like to introduce you to Ocean & Nino Mohamadi & Cusimano
Hi Ocean & Nino, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
1. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
We’ve both been in this industry for quite some time now, so I definitely think it comes with gaining experience in your field. While we’re both confident in what we do, we also know that there’s always more to learn each day so we surround ourselves with people, whom have become family at this point because we’ve all worked together for so long, that we trust and we know we can lean on. Our confidence is even stronger because we have such a good support group.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
2. Please tell our readers about what you do, what you feel is most exciting or special about it, as well as anything else you’d like folks to know about your brand/art/etc. If relevant, please also tell our readers about anything new (events, product/service launches, expansion, etc.
While the concept of Flora was created by Nino, we’ve all quickly become a small part of it. Our menus show a variety of different cultures and cuisines to showcase the group of friends that opened Flora. We all come from different backgrounds so we wanted to include a little bit of everyone’s background on the menu, similarly to how San Diego is diverse and beautiful. We invite you to come as you are at Flora, you can be whoever you want to be.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
3. What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I think this question goes back to what I was saying in question 1. Different people have strengths in different areas so you truly must create a team that you can rely on in different areas. My personal strength came forward when creating the bar menu and opening it. However I lack knowledge in opening a kitchen, and that’s where Nino’s knowledge came in. So it’s all about creating a partnership that you trust so you can have a well-rounded business.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
3. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Patience. Adaptability. Passion.
