Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Blair.
Hi Rebecca, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m just your typical Southern California girl. Born and raised in Oceanside, I was fortunate to grow up just blocks from the ocean where our days were spent in the sand. There is nothing I love more than bragging about my town…the beaches, the people, and most importantly, the best taco shop around (Roberto’s #13). It was at a young age that my interest in real estate began. I remember checking out open houses in surrounding areas with my mom on weekends and browsing the Real Estate page in Sunday’s newspaper every week (after reading the cartoons, of course). After a short stint working for a local brokerage in my early twenties, I decided to pursue a career in construction management instead. Although I enjoyed this line of work, it was not my passion and I found myself often thinking about changing careers. Fifteen years and a pandemic later, I finally decided to enroll in real estate courses and obtained my license. After over a decade in construction, I left the industry to pursue real estate full-time and have not looked back since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As I’m sure anyone in real estate would agree, this industry is not for the faint of heart. The ever-changing market and scary headlines in the news, don’t seem to help either. You constantly have to be self-motivated, consistent, driven, and most of all… okay with rejection. On any given day, you can hear 50 people say “No” to you, but it’s those Yeses that make the hard work and struggle all worth it in the end.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in residential home sales, specifically in the North San Diego communities (Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Fallbrook). Having grown up in the area, I am able to give my real estate expertise with a sprinkle of local insight. This personal touch is really helpful, especially for my clients who are new to the area. As an agent, I pride myself on not only providing top-notch service but building relationships. Getting to know the little details… their birthdays, the names of their children and pets, what they like to do for fun, etc. You are helping people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives and that shouldn’t be taken lightly! This also means after the transaction too… sending holiday cards and doing the occasional gift drop-off, just that little extra goes a long way.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m excited to continue growing my business in 2023 and beyond. I’m looking forward to helping more people find their dream homes and realize that ownership is not such a far-fetched idea. It’s absolutely attainable. I plan to continue my involvement in and giving back to the community. Our last food drive was a success and we are hoping to double our donation this year.
