Today we’d like to introduce you to Romina C.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I would say that in sixth grade is when I started to have in interest in the digital and social media world. I remember watching countless of lifestyle YouTube videos by Bethany Mota, Meredith Foster, Sierra Furtado, Alisha Marie and so many more. In middle school, I actually started filming random little videos on my iPod touch and I would absolutely love editing but would just keep them for myself since I wasn’t allowed to start a YouTube channel. High School came along and I started getting into photography and videography. I remember going on photo shoots every week and would take pictures of my friends. Sometimes I would even create short little “aesthetic” videos. After high school is really when I started to take action and work towards my goals. I started my YouTube channel, started consistently posting on Instagram and started my business.
In my third semester of college, I realized that I enjoyed business and marketing classes the most, so I decided to work towards a degree in business management and marketing. I’ve been absolutely loving it and am only a semester away from graduating. All I want is to be happy doing what I’m doing. I want to be my own boss, choose my own hours and feel like I’m just getting paid for doing one of my hobbies. I have endless career goals. I want to be a social media influencer, grow my small business, start new businesses, help other brands and companies with their digital marketing. The list never ends and I know for a fact that one day I will accomplish all of my goals and more. Fast forward to now, my sixth-grade self would be so proud of all my accomplishments so far. This is only the beginning and excited to see what the future holds for me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting to where I am now definitely came with some struggles. The only thing that was stopping me was myself. I would let my negative thoughts take control. I didn’t want to post on social media because I was scared of judgment. I have learned that the only important opinions about you are your own. Why would you let someone else’s opinions about you stop you from doing something? We have to remember that this is the only life we have. It’s short and we have to make the most of it while we are here.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently working on growing my personal social medias as well as growing my small business madewithlovebyromina. I post lifestyle and fashion content on @rrominac. I am working towards a degree in business management and a degree in marketing so I’m hoping to get into the digital marketing world and possibly working with brands in the near future. I would have to say that I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown as a person. I remember I used to be extremely introverted and shy (I still am but I’m working on it) to the point where I would rather just stay home to avoid any feeling of discomfort. When I started slowly getting out of my comfort zone, I began to gain confidence and actually start believing in myself. I stopped caring about what other people thought about me which led to starting my own business, YouTube channel and posting on my socials.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
To be quite honest, at the beginning of starting my business and my socials, I wanted to keep it “lowkey” and didn’t tell many people. I’ve always been that kind of person that wants to do things on their own but I quickly realized that I have so much support around me and I have the help if I ever need it. Comments on my posts and nice dms is what keep me going. I have such supportive friends and followers that are always commenting the loveliest things on my posts. So I would say my friends and I guess just the people that support me and my business play a huge role.
