Today we’d like to introduce you to Rommel Delgado

Hi Rommel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello, I’m Rommel Delgado, 40 years old. and I am Filipino pure Filipino. I graduated as a Certified Nursing assistant here in the U.S California, currently working at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. I am also a social media influencer or vlogger. .

God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. all my life with life’s struggle, I am the seventh child among the nine children of my parents. My father is a retired Colonel Army of the Philippine,. while my mother was a teacher.

Life has been good but hard so when opportunity to come to US through a petition of my uncle was open to my father, he grab the chance for my family, unluckily my father passed in 2008 so it was my mother who continued to bring us here in US.

Starting work here I got to work in several places and I was able to work in a facility which gave me an experience in caregiving work.

My life in the care home pave the way to work here in Scripps Mercy Hospital and with that I have thought of studying for my next level of work.

All for the glory of God as I take care of the residents and patients in the hospital and for my family as I perform my duties without complaining.

Having been awarded a recognition as the Employee of the Year for 2024 , it is my great honor and my thanks to the Lord for giving me good health and strength in the midst of hardship in dealing with different residents with different attitudes.

I give thanks to my friends and the nursing staff who molded me into a better person in performing my duties to support the nurses.

I beg to remain a humble person with the hope that someday my dream of becoming a nurse will be realized.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life has been a bit rough but with the determination to keep going made my life smooth. When our place in Tacloban City was affected due to the typhoon Yolanda where our house was destroyed and washed out I had to look for a means to live since my small catering business affected all my utensils and business stuffs were all washed out. Recovering the business was the hardest part of my life. But thank God I was able to get a work as a family driver of the bigwigs in the political family of the Romualdezes in Tacloban.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
