Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherry Gangel.
Hi Sherry , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 2021, Sherry Gangel partnered with her sister Paula Gangel to launch Bee Organized San Diego. Having recently relocated from their childhood home in Kansas City, Kansas, the sisters were ready to leave behind the corporate grind and take charge of their own future. Their passion for helping others with downsizing, decluttering, and organizing was deeply rooted in their Midwestern farm upbringing and shaped by the emotional toll of caring for their divorced parents, who both faced terminal illnesses and passed away within six months of one another.
“Even though we have two other siblings, the experience of navigating our parents’ illnesses was incredibly overwhelming,” they shared. “Trying to juggle careers, family responsibilities, and the avalanche of decisions that come with a loved one’s decline made us realize how valuable support services like ours could be. That’s why we chose to build our business in our new home of San Diego—to offer the kind of relief we ourselves had needed during one of life’s most difficult chapters.” The team at Bee Organized San Diego offers Professional Organizing for garages, pantries, closets, storage units, etc., as well as move support services. I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting Bee Organized San Diego was anything but easy. Relocating to a new city and launching a business that many people didn’t fully understand was a bold move—and not one for the faint of heart. With no established network in our new hometown, we had to build everything from the ground up. That meant long hours, countless conversations, and a lot of trial and error as we worked to spread the word about who we are and what we offer.
“As any small business owner will tell you, the sheer volume of decisions around marketing, networking, and advertising can be overwhelming. It’s a constant learning curve,” we often say. “But through it all, we’ve found joy in connecting with our neighbors and fellow entrepreneurs. Being active in the community has helped us build trust and visibility, so when someone needs help organizing or downsizing, they know exactly who to call.”
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Drawing on her experience as a certified Professional Project Manager (PMP) leading complex IT projects, co-owner Sherry brings a deep expertise in managing timelines, expectations, and client satisfaction. She channels this precision into every organizing project—offering clear estimates, strategic planning, and a keen eye for detail—so clients can enjoy the peace and freedom that come with a well-ordered space.
At the heart of our work are three guiding principles: Confidentiality, Compassion, and a Judgment-Free approach. We understand that inviting someone into your personal space can leave one feeling vulnerable. That’s why our Bees approach every project with empathy and discretion—because we know we’re often stepping into areas our clients wouldn’t even show their closest friends.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One surprising fact about Sherry and Paula Gangel is that in addition to running Bee Organized San Diego, they are also licensed Realtors. This dual role allows uniquely comprehensive service—helping clients not only organize and declutter but also prepare their homes for sale and manage the entire moving process.
Here are a few more interesting insights about Bee Organized San Diego:
They blend real estate and organization seamlessly: Sherry and Paula guide clients through every step of a move—from staging and packing to overseeing repairs and organizing the new home. It’s a rare combination that sets them apart in both industries. Already have a realtor? No worries, they will work with the existing team to augment any needs or areas of specific specialization required.
They apply their Midwest sensibilities to Southern California: Originally from the Kansas City area, Sherry and Paula bring a warm, grounded approach to their work in San Diego, which clients often find refreshing and reassuring.
Bee Organized started as a quest for flexibility and fun: What began as a search for more balance turned into a deeply fulfilling career helping others create calm, functional spaces and meaningful connections.
