Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherry Kear.
Hi Sherry, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was 3 lbs. when I was born… was in an incubator for months.
Started out playing make believe with my sister in the bedroom we shared in Bellflower, Ca
Being the host & guests of & putting on our own lil variety/talk shows & creating commercials.
I always dreamed of being on Johnny Carson or being interviewed by Barbara Walters.
Where I am today?
I’m on a coupla rungs in the middle of a tall ladder.
The great thing is that I continue to make it to the next rung.
NOT by myself, mind you. I’ve a great support team that provides me with much appreciated encouragement to take the next step toward the top of that ladder.
I thank you all.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Is any path to your dream smooth?! Maybe for some.
I find the challenges and disappointments only strengthen our desire to achieve and improve.
The past few years have been a constant battle of two steps forward and three back. Hurry up and wait. Canceled projects.
Losing an 8-year-old niece, too many family members & close friends to cancer, losing my business partner/brother from another mother to a sudden heart attack, my husband’s struggle w/auto immune disease, Family members losing everything to a hurricane!
Folks have much it worse. I am not complaining.
I remain grateful and optimistic.
I am truly lucky and have ended up being surrounded with beautiful souls.
Obstacles make us stronger and allows us to answer that question…
IS THIS where I belong!?! Is this my purpose…my Ikigai.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Career wise … I am a creative on a quest for other creatives to grow aaaand … create with. (She says smiling playfully)
I think it’s safe to say that my optimism and attitude set me apart from most.
I have 2 series I’m working on and look forward to finding them an audience. I am proud of making as far as I have, considering I was lacking guidance.
Comedy is what I’m known for most. I
LOVE to make folks laugh. I will sacrifice myself for one.
I am proud and grateful for all the projects I’ve had the pleasure to be cast in.
A film in post-production that follows a young boy w/ a life-threatening disease & allows everyone to Become a hero is something I am proud of.
Voicing the first ASL Play turned film is something I’m honored to be part of. Coming to film fest in April.
A series based in Palm Springs that is SO rich & funny with characters you instantly fall in love with. Reminds me of a Mary Tyler Moore-type show.
On a personal note… I am proud of saving an elderly neighbor’s life once and delivering meals on wheels. Keeping a family off the streets.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I am a Life is Good Co brand ambassador and as such I just wanna say… Find a way to give back.
Never stop believing
Never give up
Laugh through the pain. Keep love in your heart, support, encourage one another AAAAAND ALWAYS
SHARE THE POWER OF OPTIMISM.
Stay tuned…
